This unexpectedly became one of the sweetest books ever. Total opposites attract and I was living for it. Romantic suspense for the win. A romance between an HR professional with a PhD and an assassin, who would’ve thought this is a duo to kill for (no pun intended).

“It’s not blood that runs through my veins…it’s coffee.”

This is not my typical type of book - I generally stay in the romantasy sphere - but this was the May book of the month for ProbablySmut and it was amazing!

I love the hardass MMC who is so sweet and tender. And the story was great and fast-paced. The spice was perfect, but too much or too little.

It was well written and the special edition of the book we got was beautiful. The first page of every chapter was black with white text and it was so fun!

This had such a good mix of suspense/thriller and romance. I felt very in tune the the anxieties of the FCM and her struggle for strength and companionship. The MMC was so sweet and actively cared, despite our initial impressions of the opposite.

Such a good read and I’m excited to know there’s a second book coming!!

This book somehow gave me hope and shattered
it at the same time. It also gives me strong Haunting Adeline vibes. Z and Linc would be great friends as would Adeline and Eden. I like the whole trying to save the world "bad" guy. They give me hope, even if they are fictional men.

Eden's character growth was crazy, as was Linc's. I loved them and loved watching them grow. I didn't know what to expect from this book and I'm glad, though, I have a feeling that if I did have expectations, they would have been met and exceeded.

Also, that bonus epilogue! I loved it. It was a fast-forward of 3 years and I love those cause sometimes I do wonder what the characters
are up to in the future. I always want them to be happy and living their best lives. I'm glad that Kay Cove included that bonus epilogue.
