This has been the first YA novel I've read in quite a while. Usually, I tend to dislike the way YA is written - sometimes, I just cringe throughout the entire book. This wasn't the case here. The characters actually had depth, and the writing style was just perfect. Initially, I was put off by Eden's way of coping with the rape, but I soon came to realise why she was doing what she was doing. I do however, think that the portrayal of alcohol etc. was rather excessive for a YA novel

This book is Euphoria, but for young adults. And honestly, the 14+ age rec on the back of the book should probably be 16/17+.

Pretty boring up until part four honestly. That part did have me hanging on. The ending happened so fast and didn't give me answers to certain questions I had. Not planning on reading the sequel.

This is a hard read, in that it's emotionally draining. When I first read it, there were times I was shaking and my stomach was turning. I think that points to the realistic and emotive writing. Eden is nowhere near the "perfect victim" in this story, which is why I think it's so powerful.
