Wow wow wow. Incredible read. Amber's writing had me instantly connected with every character that she introduced. I haven't cried from reading a book in a good year and this did it for me.

⚠️This book a tear jerking book that brings awareness to rape. There are many times where people try to speak out but either fear their life or have not survived it. Eden was an innocent band girl that played clarinet. She thought the world of her brother’s friend Kevin and even liked him. However her innocence was taken from her and she truly lost herself. From quitting band with her best friend and changing her look she became a different person to not feel anything anymore. She masked the feeling with sex and replaced the fear with cigarettes and alcohol until she met this one guy and years later she finds the courage or meets her breaking point and is finally able to heal. I recommend this book to anyone who does not understand why some people seem reckless or to anyone who wants to cry because this book is devastating.

This book is so heavy. The main character made me want to pull my hair out of sometimes because of her trauma, and the lack of communication that she had with the other characters. But my heart also broke for her pain. this book really made me feel strong emotions about the trauma and the chaos and the toxicity of everything when she’s trying to cover it. It took us through four years of high school and show the traumas of the events that happened and how it changed her whole life in perspective it’s such a good read.
