I don't know why I keep on reading Michaelideis when I don't like his books. I actually think this one was a bit more compelling than others due to its complex timeline and perspective reframing of scenes. But it was predictable despite the characters behaving unbelievably. In the end he tied it together in a way that suggested that all his characters lived in the same universe, which is awfully depressing...a world where every other person is a calculating sociopath.
