The concept of polyamory is one that is being increasingly explored in romance, having successfully made the transition from erotica (where I first encountered it), which is exciting because it really is something that is far more about love than it is sex.

She Wants More is the fourth Polyamorous Passions book from Sagan Morrow, but they can all can be read as standalone stories, especially this one, since it begins Helen's personal arc.

Since it is only the beginning of that personal arc, this is a book that is less about entertaining a polyamorous relationship and more about exploring the reasons one might desire it. It is a story that is full of doubts, desires, questions, and reflections. Morrow takes a serious look at not just the motivations behind polyamory but the mechanics and consequences of it.

Helen and Ben are an interesting couple, almost gender-flipped in that she is the career woman and he is the caregiver, planning wedding tasks in her absence and dropping everything to care for a sick grandmother. The tension that follows her introduction of the idea is genuine, and I appreciated how the story gave them both space to understand what it might mean.

There is a bit of a fun twist towards the end of the story that made me see Ben in a whole new light, and what follows that is as romantic as it is adventurous, but I have already said too much!

Helen has watched her friend Emma navigate the poly life, and at first, she judged Emma for her choices, feeling it wasn't fair to everyone involved. But the more Emma learned and shared with her friends, the more accepting Helen became of Emma's lifestyle.

But that's not the lifestyle Helen would choose for herself. She's planning her wedding to Ben. But sometimes a man catches her eye, more than a normal glance. Heck, her wedding photographer practically has her daydreaming. But she could never do something so emotionally involved as Emma does. Lifestyles come in all shapes and sizes, a spectrum of various choices that work well for some and not for others. Helen is realizing that there is a wide scope involved in the poly lifestyle. Perhaps open relationships don't have to be as deeply involved as Emma's relationship. At least it's something to think about.

When I first started the series, I felt very luke-warm to Helen, because she had started off as a bit rigid and closed-off. But as the series progressed, and especially now that she is the star of She Wants More, I've come to know her and really like her. While she did play a supportive part in the previous books, getting to know her intimately in her own book, has enabled me to learn more about her and her relationship with Ben.

I feel like She Wants More could be read as a standalone, but you would be missing out on the journey if you didn't read the others first. Because you're watching Emma, Scarlett, and Helen from discovery to practice, the ups and downs, the mistakes and exciting discoveries. This is such a fun read, the characters are great and the storyline is wonderfully engaging. Very well done!

It was fun reading from Helen’s point of view. I’m not sure if Helen if my favorite character of the trio but I enjoyed learning more about her.

The first thing that occurred to me was that I should read Helen story when they are all out because now I'm dying to know what happened in the next one. :)

First three books in the series focused on Emma's journey with polyamory, how she discovered who she really is and navigated romantic relationship after that. Now we read about Helen story, who is about to be married, but discovers she has feelings about the new photographer. I loved the was that her story was totally different from Emma's and shows a different kind of polyamory. There are many sides that, it's lovely that it widens the horizons on that because like anything else, it's not one shoe fits all.

She was my favorite characters since the start, very traditional and opinionated and I loved the way her story unfolded, it just fit her so well.

Also, the writing is very good, if you read the stories in order, you can see how the writing improved with every book. :)
