I loved this! It reminds me of Lamb, which is one of my favorite fantasy novelas. I'm sure if you dig deep enough you can give me a list of all its flaws, but I had a great time reading this book and that's literally all that matters. The banter is cute, the sex is is incredibly hot, and the writing style really suits the story. There is some heavy handed moralizing, but Nix leans into it and I'm here for it. So much fun and I would love to read more like it!

this book is absolutely adorable! Dark romance is usually
my go-to so i’m always a little iffy about contemporary, especially rom-com. however, this is a beautifully written sapphic romance that checks all the boxes. Jackie is a relatable character and really draws you in. i love the development of jackie and the blossoming relationship between Vexx. So many sapphic romances seemed forced or unrealistic to real life queer experiences but Heather did a great job of capturing queerness in fiction. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a short, spicy, fun read. The ONLY complaint i have is that i’ve never been able
to accidentally summon a hot demon lady whilst baking

I loved this book. It felt like a warm fuzzy blanket and a nice cup of tea on a blustery day. Of course the spice was chefs kiss (pun intended).

Seattle is a place I’ve always wanted to visit and while some places were fictional it definitely made me want to go even more.

Heather is an amazing person and author and I love her style of writing. The descriptions make it easy for me to make pictures in my head haha if that makes sense.

Also I hope Cam goes to hell with her bitchy ass Chanel wearing sister. And not the good hell where Vexx is from.

Jackie Miller just started her dream job and thinks things are looking up for her. But she quickly finds herself single and accidentally summoning a demon, who is extremely hot. This was a very enjoyable paranormal romance with just the right amount of angst and steam.

Jackie and Vexxanthe’s relationship was supposed to be just a fling while they waited for the right time for a portal back to hell to be created. Instead they both fall hard for each other. This was a very enjoyable relationship with just the right amount of angst and steam to keep me hooked. There is a little bit of a third act break up when it gets closer to Vexx’s time to leave but it wasn’t a long one and it worked with the storyline.

Overall, this was a cute and steamy lesiban romance and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed both of these characters and Jackie’s coworker Everett a lot.

TW: alcohol use; toxic masculinity in the workplace; cheating partner and breakup;

Ummm excuse me @booksbynix
THIS RIGHT HERE MY FRIEND…WAS DELICIOUS 🙂‍↕️🤤

It was fun, exciting, adventurous, different, spicy, & FUNNY! YALL… I cracked up more than once while reading this book !! OUT LOUD.. HELLO 😂

Who knew all I needed was a grey hot gothic demon & a dreamy pink haired pastry chef & 250 pages of absolutely fun on this fine Sunday (yesterday) ! There was no way I was putting this book down. I ATEEEEEE THIS UPPPP. *finger lickin’ good* Vexx and Jax will live rent free in my head forever. 💖

The story was delivered perfectly. The introduction of both characters *chefs kiss* It was the perfect amount of each of them and I feel… full! For context - I went into this book completely BLIND. Addy suggested it and I went off nothing but her suggestion and the cover. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend.

@booksbynix will be an auto buy author for me and yall know I don’t have many of those, I just love to read. That’s how much I enjoyed this book!! She has another book out now - Woodborn ( I CANT WAIT TO READ THAT ) & a little birdy told me there is some magic on the horizon… So stay tuned yall !! 😈🙂‍↕️🖤

This book was a total sugary sweet romance. If you’ve been  reading a bunch of dark and need something sweet and short as a palette cleanser then this is for you! I rated it lower at this time because I didn’t need a palette cleanser and I typically don’t read fluffy romances either (read this as a book club read). I will say I adored Vexxanthe’s dad! For a King of Hell he gets dad of the year!!! He made me the most emotional out of everyone in this damn book ❤️❤️❤️

So if you like rom coms, fluffy romances, and *gasp* communication (from Vex) then you’ll like this.

This book is a great sapphic fluffy rom-com with relatable characters, great spice, and a depiction of queerness that doesn’t make me want to throw my phone out the window. Usually sapphic books have that forced edge of stereotypical tropes and unrealistic dialog, but this one (while definitely not being completely realistic, demon and all) has a tone of authenticity and good representation of other letters in the rainbow alphabet in side characters!

Wonderfully cozy and sweet, it’s great for when you need a quick read that you can sink into or a break between darker or heavier books. I’ll be looking out for more books from this author!
