After reading "The Stopover", I wanted more of the Miles brothers! I love the plot of this story- I'm a sucker for single parent romances- with Claire as a widowed mother with three boys (who are crazy in the best way!!), and Tristan, who falls for all of them. I loved Tristan's personality and how he could always make Claire laugh, and he always made her feel beautiful. And those boys stole the story!
The book was well-written, but I would say that I felt like the ending was rushed. I didn't quite feel as settled as I would have liked. Nonetheless, I can't wait for more!

Let me preface this by saying that going into this book, I did not expect the book that I got, but I am SO happy for the book that I read.
While reading The Stopover, we got a glimpse into Tristan Miles's life. He is perceived to be the nice guy/play boy of the family. While the nice part stuck in this book, I did not see the play boy that I thought he was. Tristan was a fantastic character. Once he met Claire, he was done for. I loved the way that their relationship started and the persistence that Tristan showed in "getting the girl". He was persistent without being over alpha-male pushy.
Claire is a widow/single mom of five years. He has struggled since her husbands unexpected death to keep the family business afloat. In turn, she struggled with a work/life balance and handling the struggles of her children.
The relationships that Tristan formed with the children was the highlight of the book. From the first meeting (I LOL'd SO hard), to to bonds that they formed as they went along, to finally the boys saving their relationship. It was just a beautiful representation of step-children. All three of the kids were so different, but Tristan was able to warm their hearts just from being him.
I also loved how passionate Tristan was about becoming a real family - having the bigger house, adopting the children, potentially giving having his own biological children (due to Claire's age). He never let that stop him because Claire and the kids were enough for him and that was warmed my heart so much.
Going into this book, I just expected a spicy, angsty romance book, but what we got was SO much more.
I can't wait to read the next installment in the series, however, I don't know how anyone is going to stop TRISTAN FREAKING MILES.

3 stars
I really wanted to love this book, as I do others by this author but Claire was so incredibly unlikeable. She treated Tristan terribly and, quite frankly, did not deserve him.

the only reason this wasn’t a 5 star for me was because of claire. i could not stand her during this book she was one of the most selfish, indecisive female characters i have read about it. she was so toxic towards tristan and her sons and she made me so mad throughout the book. tristan was doing everything in his power to help her and her sons but she kept saying how everything was her deceased husbands and not tristan’s. she also never once apologized??? and she constantly played the victim card throughout the entire book.

DNF'd at about 50%. This book reminded me as to why I almost always stick to dark romance. I can recognize why others love this book, but Claire and Tristan just aren't it for me.
