I love everything by Samantha Christy and this book is no different. I was interested to see how the title was going to play into the book and it was a perfect choice for the book!

This is the story of Tag and Maddie who meet for a date from a dating site. They know each other from living in town but don’t have any relationship. Initially they don’t stick around for the date, but when things happen and they end up spending the date together they are surprised by how much they enjoyed it. The book goes slow in the sense of time (not the story) as quite a few chapters are written just about the few hours of their date but I really enjoyed how it was written.

Maddie is a single mom who hides from the scars of her past. She is stronger than she would ever admit and her daughter is her entire life. Tag is the bad boy who is going to win over your heart. Despite Maddie being all about her family and being a mom and Tag being an eternal bachelor, they found things in each other that no one else saw and developed a strong connection. The way Tag’s heart warmed to Gigi was so beautiful. They were both protecting their heart for different reasons but they found a way to break down those walls and let love in.

The story was very well written with parts to swoon and parts that anger you, an adorable girl who steals the show, lessons about your imperfections, and some serious panty dropping goodness!

Sweet story

Ok, so the H in this story is a real ahole. Like, he is vain, shallow, selfish, and all the other typical fboy qualities. I actually like that the author shows how truly awful he is so we can cheer for the growth. The h was the perfect match for him, she was sweet, smart, independent, even a little self conscious. I loved how thier relationship grew. It seemed much longer than 3 weeks. The last part of the story with the kid was all the feels.

Tag and Maddie

After a blind date gone bad..Maddie finds herself sitting in a hotel room with the town’s playboy, Tag. They soon find out they have a lot in common and love spending time with each other. But trust is a huge factor for both of them. Good story. Very entertaining. I think everyone loves to see the alpha playboy fall in love.

Unlikely Date is an amazing story about finding love where you least expect it! There's healing, hope, delicious banter, and heart.

Tag Calloway is a grumpy asshole in the beginning. He's a player with no desire to settle down. Oh! And he dislikes kids! So watching him fall for single mom Maddie, was so heartwarming! You see his whole demeanor change with smiles, laughter, helping Maddie heal, and getting to know her daughter Gigi.

Maddie Foster is a an incredible woman. Her background story will break your heart. She's an amazing mother and so much stronger than she knows. Gigi is so adorable! It's no wonder Tag falls for her as well!

I love how even before he falls for Maddie, Tag tries to help her. Whether it's with doing things outside her comfort zone, or fixing things in her apartment. Maddie falls for him quickly, but is afraid to trust it because of Tag's past. These two fall hard and fast and it's so beautiful! The epilogue is everything! Gigi, gosh! I highly recommend this book!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I thought it was good but would have liked more. Us readers like to read the story of them after they finally get together for good. Not just the chase.
