This series is so good! I highly recommend the audiobooks, the narrators are amazing!
I was practically foaming at the mouth waiting for this next installment of the series. I love reading about fated mates and if it's a rejected\second chance story I've even more invested. Add in some groveling and we've got something cooking.
Gwen's mates are dealing with the repercussions of handing her over to the wrong people. She believes the lies that they've betrayed and left her there. Meanwhile her mates ultimately figure out the reasons she rejected them and the sacrifices she made.
We do get development in the the romance department with several of her mates. (I'd rate it at a 2.5/5 in spice) Stakes are upped as Onyx makes a deal with his father in attempts to safe her which is probably a bad move...Finn shows how much of a psychopath he is for his mate...Rhodes is in a coma for most of the book...Aleks nearly breaks apart when something devasting happens to Gwen...and Hollis? Does he remain the mate that still hates her? Maybe? Maybe not. But I'm really looking forward to a huge character arc for him in the next book.
I do have questions about Severi though. The book starts with him and ends with his POV. Gwen's nexus seems to love him but I'm confused about his character. He's painted as the villain and I can't tell if he's going to end up with Gwen or not. There are parts in the book that will make you sympathize but he does things that make you second guess.
I wished that this book was longer as so far the series is clocking in at under 375 pages for two books. This also proves to me that G.Bailey is adept at storytelling and telling\showing alot in such a concise way. I need Gwen to spend more time with her mates as was away from them for a large portion of the book. Rhodes was not in it until 85% through the story sadly.
Then we have the "soap opera" revelation at the end. I'm expecting even more delicious angst in the next book. (Insert evil laughter here) Although I must admit I hate scenarios where this is going. But I must be patient because I KNOW we're gonna get a HEA in the end, right G. Bailey?.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am loving this series so far but I’m a little concerned that she will be able to wrap everything up in the next 2 books. We added some more mysteries and now book 3 should hopefully start to solve some. I think I have a big part of it figured out but still missing some of it. Annie’s chapter was a pleasant surprise. Hollis, the man you are, tell your damn family what’s going on so they can help you get out of this or push Gwen’s nexus far enough to just kill Rochelle already. Sir if you aren’t groveling or attempting to figure out a way to prove yourself in the next book you should be killed. No reason this has gone on this long. Fix it
