This book left me with my mouth hanging open just as the first one had. As expected, Maureen Johnson had my flipping the pages extremely quickly and I remained eager to read more. However I wanted more about David and Stevie together!!!! The scenes where they were together though, made my heart warm and I was just so so sad for David but he also confused me so so much. Compared to Truly Devious the novel itself, the twists and discoveries made by Stevie and Ellingham were less intense but still extremely well thought out. Also, YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT I WILL BE READING EVERY SINGLE SHERLOCK HOLMES BOOK AFTER THIS!!!

definitely at least a 4. i was not expecting Elly to be dead, i thought under the stairs sure but like alive. i also did not expect the ending with the FBI agent being the one to kidnap alice and the wife but at least he didn't mean total harm. I also did not expect the professors home to blow up what the heck. i hope the nephew (thomas maybe?) is okay. also, David better get his shit together
