Surprised I liked this as much as I did. This is funny and candid and heartfelt and lovely. Made me more of a fan of Sarah than I was for sure.

I enjoyed this a lot. A surprisingly quick read, and honest, charming, goofy & funny with it. Felt like it skated over a load of stuff, possibly due to Silverman not wanting to reveal too much, or else just simple satisficing. Some of the writing was great, but description isn't really her thing. I could imagine a lot of people finding it underwhelming. It hasn't really changed my opinion of Silverman (I like her work, though sometimes find it a bit forced), but I do have a slightly better feel for who she is. I guess if you don't like her work, and particularly if you're not of a liberal or at least a bohemian-sympathetic disposition, this probably isn't the book for you.

Silverman is a great writer, which makes The Bedwetter easier to read than other celebrity memoirs. She also had a fair number of legitimately interesting stories from her childhood and young adulthood.

"Read it, start to finish, in a day" should suffice for a review.

Uneven but the behind the scenes of TSSP is hilarious, awkward and insightful

Not very good. It's probably good for fans of Sarah Silverman but I didn't know much about her going in to it, but her style of humor isn't for me. Call me a Feminist but I don't find rape jokes or racist jokes funny. Besides those two jokes it's mainly potty humor. Not my cup of tea.

I'm not a fan of Sarah Silverman's comedy at all, but I decided to listen to this as an audiobook during my lengthy commute to work, as I'm a sucker for memoirs, especially those read by the author. My whole opinion on Sarah has changed after reading/listening to this book. Some people have said they found the beginning to be boring and unfunny, but I preferred hearing her describe her childhood and adolescence over the time she tripped on acid and (spoiler alert) had to call Louis C.K. to remind her how to drive.

Hilarious! I highly recommend the audiobook.

Sarah is funny! Let's start with that. She is witty and talented and very funny. Just, not in this book. Although, that isn't really fair either. There were funny parts for sure. But I am not Jewish. Oh, and she is. Which she reminded me. Numerous times. That being said, she is probably funny, I just don't get it. You know, because I'm not Jewish... and she is.

I found myself skipping pages and skimming over things. I think I skipped the entire last quarter of the book. I read and skipped and then browsed and skipped and meh. I just couldn't relate so it just wasn't overly enveloping for me.

The best part of the book was her dad. Write a whole book about that! I would read it! I would!

So all in all. Maybe if you're Jewish, a big fan of crude private parts humor and don't get offended easily. You will probably enjoy this book. But I'm not... Jewish...

(Note: you may not understand the repeated emphasis on my lack of being Jewish if you didn't read the book.)

I loved this book. It was hilarious but also surprisingly moving in parts. I love Sarah!
