A fun, light read.

Very slow up until the ending

Supernatural Sherlock book two is good. Dragons and shape-shipping kittens. The trapper guy keeps calling Abigail "little lady" and I could do with less of that. Otherwise, good!

This second Jackaby adventure was a bit slow but I still enjoyed it.

Summary: When dinosaur bones from a recent dig mysteriously go missing, and an unidentifiable beast starts attacking animals and people, leaving their mangled bodies behind, Abigail and her eccentric employer R.F. Jackaby, investigators of the supernatural in 1892 New England, find themselves hunting for a thief, a monster, and a murderer.

4.5 stars! even better than the first book. really enjoyed the mystery in this one and the dialogue about women not needing men was great. abigail is a really strong chara and jackaby is hilarious. really excited for the jenny plot in book 3!!

Great Sequel

I really enjoyed the second book of Ritter's Jackaby series. I love the relationship has with other characters in the book and the uniqueness of the world that Ritter has created. I was unsatisfied that the early deaths were not given much attention as the mystery unraveled.

This book exceeded my expectations. I love Ritter's writing style and his characters, plot, mystery and romance- everything is so rich in his novels. This book did move a bit slower than the first, but it was still just as fantastic. It also sets the stage for future books which excites me because I want more from this story!
The humor was even better this book, the mystery more thrilling, the romance enchanting and the new characters were deep and believable. Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year. I recommend this series to anyone looking for something fresh and exciting. Well done, William Ritter, you've once again gained my full support of your writing.
