Reading this one was hard. There are so many encounters in this book that feel pointless, the story is stretched far beyond its limits and wears you and itself thin.

It started very promising but turned out to be pretty mundane with some excellent points throughout but not often enough to warrant reading it tbh.

The book grow on me as time went by. Nice story overall, not the best Dostoevsky works for sure, but it is an interesting one. It’s full of psychological analyses, and it’s perfection is in part 4, chapter 9. Part 4, chapter 4 is the funniest chapter I have read by D. I’d recommend the book just for that! The book definitely finishes strong unlike Karamazov Brothers!

Part 1 und 4 waren sehr gut und ich bin froh, dass ich weitergelesen habe, obwohl es sich in der Mitte dann doch sehr gezogen hat.

Der Idiot hat definitiv Schwächen und man muss sich ab und an bisschen quälen, aber es lohnt sich. An manchen Stellen wird es sehr repetitiv, vor allem bei den Parts 2 und 3.
