A very sweet and tender story. I kept waiting for more emotional depth that just didn’t come through for me, but I would read it again!

This book was definitely more character than plot-driven, but I’m not mad about it. The character development of both Margaret and Wes and their relationship was so sweet and wholesome and I just loved them

I think I liked Down Comes Night like just a smidge more but honestly this book was just written so beautiful. And I don’t mean to be dramatic but I would die for Weston Winters. And Maggie was written so wonderfully and with care.

Was hoping for something different. Exposition was too much tell not show — threw nuance and layered characters right out the window in the first chapter

I did enjoy this book, however I had originally dnfd it a year back, because the first third of the book is incredibly slow. it for sure is more of a slow-paced read and feels more like a character study, which just personally isn´t my favorite thing in the world. still, i am glad i gave this another try, since it really delivered those atmospheric autumn vibes.
