2.5 stars. Not quite what I was expecting. Based on the title and an incident early on, it is very easy to guess what Jacobs is really after, which makes Jamie's repeated wonderings about it a little tedious. I enjoyed the first few chapters when Jamie is a child, but I lost some interest as he grew up. The middle part of the book drags and the lackluster ending really does not make up for it. I was excited to read this and wanted some major creepiness, but never got it.

Lulls you into thinking it’s not that scary and then the last fifty pages or so are extremely scary. You got me, Mr. King
