I don’t care how inept a police department is, they’re not going to sit around and let an 18 year old girl and her high school friends traipse through potential crime scenes, create search parties, and investigate a possible missing person/murder. It’s wildly unbelievable and yet, somehow, you forget all of that and just pay attention to the fact that Pip has an uncanny way of reading the clues to solve big puzzles no one else can.

Super good, on the edge of my seat the entire time. The ending broke my heart, I felt so bad for everyone.

Someone get Pip some trauma therapy 😅

I liked this one slightly less than the first book but it was still an interesting story.

Wow. I really didn’t expect this book to make me cry after reading the first one and bawling my eyes out (y’all who have read it know what chapter I’m talking about). I loved seeing everything unfold in the last few chapters. Just when I thought I was one step ahead of the author she threw me a curb, but I loved the thrill of it. Once again, she managed to make me trust someone who I shouldn’t have trusted, and I got my feelings hurt. I particularly liked how the culprit wasn’t a particularly good person but it was easy to understand their motives. This book really showed how no person is fully bad or good. Speaking of that, we NEED to talk about Pip’s character growth. I LOVED IT. It’s amazing to see how she’s changed from the first book. She’s finally breaking away from her mold and becoming such an independent and capable person. I love her for that and can’t wait to see what she does next in “As Good As Dead.” I’ve heard many people say that the third book is the best in the series so I have high hopes. Here’s to hoping I’m not disappointed.

This was so good! I was a little worried going in because I really wasn’t sure where the series would go based on the ending of the first book, or if it would be as interesting, but I’m relieved that it was still so good!
I feel like this one focused heavily on Pip’s struggles with everything that’s happened to her in the past year as well as people’s comments both in person and online. I got a lot more emotional with this book, especially at the ending where I felt crushed for Pip. I wish we’d gotten to see Pip & Ravi’s relationship in the early stages a little more, but I love him! He’s so sweet and supportive of her.
I had a feeling I knew who would be involved in the mystery from pretty early on but it took a lot longer for me to feel certain about it than it did in the first book.
Excited to read the last book and see how this series ends!

A sequel that completely lives up to the first. Pip has become a character I truly love reading about very much. The thing I love about these books, is that it is just the right amount level of mystery and guessing. It never fails to keep you on the edge of your seat. I find myself becoming Pip myself, thinking back to past chapters, wondering who was lying, who’s suspicious etc. it never gets old.

This story was a great way to continue Pip’s journey as a lil detective. I can’t wait to start the next book, I never want her journey to end.

Spoilers ahead:

I had a weird feeling since the beginning of the book about the new neighbors, but when they told Pip about the watch being stolen, and Charlie giving her that lil pep talk after the verdict of Max, I put my suspicions behind…crazy turn out. I was suspect of Arthur Reynolds almost the whole time due to the last book throwing that twist with Cara’s father.

I remember Stanley showing up at the graveyard and I did actually think he was Layla Mead. Or that Luke Easton was…which reminds me, did Pip ever give him his $900?

Ravi and Pips relationship is so fricking cute and I’m SOOO happy that the author established their connection. It’s so sweet.

Jamie’s whole story was a lil weird. It is crazy to think mans would just kill for someone he doesn’t even know in real life. He needs some major therapy.

I loved how this one was just like the first. So many twist and turns and questions until the very end.
