The FMC was a very selfish and inconsiderate person. I kept hoping it would get better, and finally gave up at 50%.

I’m so disappointed with this book. It started out strong. It was witty and charming and I liked the enemies to lovers vibe but then half way through it seemed the author went all over the place. Both characters became super pathetic and acted like children, their “love” didn’t feel believable and the plot was choppy, causing pacing issues.

I also just think Lynn should stick to writing female characters because Beck’s POV were weak. It wasn’t a distinctive character voice. Any author wanting to write a male POV should look to Katie McGarry, who I believe knocks it out of the park every single time!

okay so listen here.
i was kinda sad about the lack of detain in these spicey scenes, and there was only two, which also makes me sad.
Anyway, it was kinda cute. But i feel like it kinda ruined it when i knew who would be mr. wrong number.

Did enjoy it tho.

this was torture.

if i had read this and "The Love Wager" before "Better Than The Movies" & "The Do-Over" i would've never given those a chance. i was giddy excited getting into this expecting a refreshing (and funny) rom-com but this was more pettiness turned twisted (in a way) love? i just don't understand the chemistry between colin and olivia, i really don't. the book claims it exists but i beg to differ.

i was halfway through insanity while olivia was getting over her self-pity and as i much as i wanted to feel bad for colin; his character was horribly written too.

and can we talk about how we never got closure on olivia's defensive mechanism assumptions about colin's lifestyle? like i would've liked to see them talk it out and have at least one understanding moment. and then i start TLW and they're getting married? like, personally, they'd be on my top 10 book couples most likely to break up after the story ends.

i also must stress how hard it is to get me to not like a rom-com; REALLY HARD. im so happy that i can see the obvious improvement in lynn's recent work and i'm dying for another book like her recents.

Meh. The characters felt a little two dimensional to me and I didn't feel any chemistry between them. It was enjoyable, but I went in expecting more than I received.
