This book annoyed me beyond belief. So to start, the likelihood of texting the wrong number and it being your best friends little sister is like 1 out of 1000000 with the same area code. Secondly, if his plan was to really ask a girl out that he met 6 months ago and he goes with "what are you wearing", he is getting slapped and blocked. It automatically made him feel like a sleazeball who can get away with anything because he comes from money. So her idea of him is pretty accurate one that front. And then when they are still talking anonymously, I don't recall them having any conversations about where they live and she just assume they live in the same city and asks him to meet up with her. Like, he could of easily said, "hi, I don't live in your city" and that would have been the only thing he needed to do. Other than the fact, that he could have easily told her the truth, because she was going to be embarrassed no matter what once she found out. Because, she was going to find out and the only way she wouldn't was if he permanently changed his phone number to the old phone. Also, who the hell had an old phone in their night stand that still has the phone connected to a phone number??? He screams super douche to me. And then her having bad luck is one thing, but them lying to an employer after she realizes her mistake is just dumb. She immediately knew she would get fire if she got caught, and still actively chose to lie in the moment. So her bad luck this time was her own damn fault. Finally, they said I love you after sleeping together for a few weeks and going on one real date. Insta love is actually insta lust and I don't believe that relationship for one second.
When I think of Lynn Painter, of course I think of Liz and Wes from BTTM. This is my first time reading one of her adult books (and my second overall…) and while I enjoyed it, and had many moments that made me grin or laugh out loud, it wasn’t a complete hit with me.
Things I loved:
The nephews!! They completely stole the show for me, and Aunty Liv was one of my favorite things.
Liv’s positive attitude, and ability to laugh at herself and turn situations around.
The banter. Top notch.
The friendship between Jack and Collin
What I didn’t love:
Mostly it comes down to the families - on both sides. But especially Liv’s family. After getting dumped and accidentally setting her apartment on fire, she goes to live with her brother Jack and his roommate. But every time we see Jack, he’s calling her a spaz, telling her what a screw up she is, or otherwise putting her down or mocking her in some way. And there isn’t even a big moment where Collin comes to Liv’s defense!!
Cute and funny, but unhappy with some of the character relationships. A little missed something for me.
3.5 stars

Was enjoying the beginning and then after the reveal it went downhill for me. The ending was also underwhelming.
2.5 was expecting a lot more for a Lynn Painter novel

Was there character development? No. Was this an in-depth story? Also no, but if you want a fun romance book to get you out of a reading slump, look no further than this book. It’s witty and at times sexy without the descriptive smut.
In my personal opinion Olivia is a little over the top and the story was very fast-paced for my liking but still got me kicking my feet and giggling.
Read this in like a day.

The beef I had with this book:
- long ass chapters, like no chapter should be over 12 pages let alone 31 pages
- colin just is not a sexy name I’m sorry
