It’s been over a decade since I first dipped into the Crossfire series, and revisiting Bared to You felt like stepping back into the delicious chaos of early 2010s erotica—when books didn’t just flirt with spice, they went all in and then some.
Gideon Cross? Still the demanding, obsessive piece of sin that left no crumbs. Straight for the action with a need so intense it practically scorches the page. And Eva? Hesitant at first, but once she got a taste of the fire, she wasn’t turning back.
Their dynamic is gloriously toxic—two deeply damaged souls trying to fuck, fight, and feel their way through something that barely resembles stability… but damn if it isn’t addictive. Their chemistry? Absolutely feral.
This one remains a true classic in the erotica world. And the fact that I read this with a straight face in my school cafeteria back in the day? Wild. I must’ve had nerves of steel.
I really liked this book, I read it in a day or two, an easy read if you like this genre.
It is a lot like fifty shades, but I have heard the writing is really bad in their books - I tried this and I like it! Definitely... dirty. But I am actually invested in the characters lol

I just don't think FSoG style books are for me. I know people love this series... but their situations are REAL fucked up. I just couldn't get into the romance.

explicit childhood sexual abuse experienced by both characters, stalking, a character who murders one of the abusers, really disturbing/violent relationship dynamics, parent induced trauma
This was a book club selection for something better than 50 Shades of Grey which I have also read. There are similarities between this book and 50 Shades.
Incredibly wealthy business man with some stalker like tendencies, but Ava is much stronger than Anastasia and there is far better communication from the very beginning of Gideon and Ava's relationship and I really appreciated that.
Very light BDSM but both main characters have had abuse in their past so bare that in mind if you have triggers.
I look forward to reading other books in this series and I especially liked the realistic language in the sex scenes.

Just not for me. It’s definitely a hot tamale book, and if that’s all you’re looking for, this could very well be for you. For me, I’m well past the twenty something maturity level relationship status quo. By the middle I was rolling my eyes and just hoping it would get better.
The first thing I did whilst reading this book was buy the next 3 books in the series! It was one of the best books I have read all year... Gideon and Eva's story was soo well written and I can't wait for the next books!

I'm not sure if it's a genre I like, but I was willing to give it a chance as it couldn't possibly be terrible, with the 4.5 average rating and all.
I read this book because I had just finished reading the "50 Shades" series and this was recommended. I got wrapped up in the hype and knew, from the get-go, that Christian and Ana's relationship was not healthy. However, Gideon and Eva's relationship is more defined by a mutual past and a need to save themselves, with the help of another. This is what makes this book different from "50 Shades". This style of writing and consistent dialogue is much more enjoyable as well.
