Quite boring
I'm not entirely sure how this book gets lumped in with fifty shades of grey, other than maybe they're both erotic romances? The style of writing (grammar, sentence structure) are better than fifty shades but the plot is worse and the vocabulary is off-putting. Everything about this story was just so vanilla; from the sex scenes (which are pretty much all boring missionary) to the storyline, to the word choice (who the heck refers to their lady bits as their 'cleft'??), I found myself constantly fighting yawns. There's no real connection developed between the main characters, all their interactions are stale and repetitious (not even close to the vibe in fifty shades), and there's no discernable build up or climax in the plot. The book just kind of bumped along until it ended; I was actually very confused for a second at the end, is it supposed to be some kind of cliff hanger? I know there's a second book but that's only because Amazon told me lol. Can't say I'd recommend this book and I can't figure out what everyone's gushing about.

Let me say this book is written a millions time better than "the other book," which it has been compared to. That being said, I'm not sure (at least at book one) why this is compared to 50SOG? I assume that it gets into the D/s relationship in the upcoming books? There was really just a hint of it in this. Or is it the damaged/abused history that has people comparing it? Or is it because it's erotica and obviously 50SOG was the first of it's kind or every book has to be compared to it?

This actually does have a plot and character development, but it also has instalove, unrealistic situations, and an ending that is not an ending at all (there is no resolution and there's also no cliff hanger). The two main characters gave me some serious whiplash with their ups and downs, but I suppose given their backgrounds it makes sense. Prepare yourself for a lot of drama.
I'm putting this book in the guilty pleasure box. I finished in it one sitting, so it's definitely a readable book despite the issues I had with it. Reading books with these super rich protagonists make me feel bad about my life though.

Too instant lovey. Did not like how the main guy just wanted her right there. No history.

Read for a book club. Not quite my cup of tea. Truthfully skimmed most.
I'm actually writing this review after a re-read. I, apparently, never wrote a review the first time around that I read it.
This review is for the entire series, as a whole, and will be posted to all the subsequent books.
The Crossfire series is for fans of Fifty Shades - odds are if you enjoyed the Fifty Shades trilogy, this is right up your alley. I enjoyed this series MUCH better than it's counterpart. The writing is better, the plot is better, the character development is better. It's just better, overall.
My biggest struggle when reading this series, was to not actively compare it to Fifty Shades. It is it's own series and can very much stand on it's own two feet. It was hard to not compare the two. Albeit, I found this series shortly after the Fifty Shades hoopla so it was very much in your face.
Obviously, if I just finished a reread of the series, I enjoyed the series very much. I'm finding it difficult to write a review since this is following my second read through and I have no idea what my initial thoughts were on this series. So, I'll just say if you're looking for a good romance series with lots of steam, this is for you!

Lovelovelove! I am desperately waiting for a sequel to Bared to You. Each of the two main characters are strong, despite their flaws and horrible issues. Bared to You brings together a real storyline with extreme smoking sex... and that's why I will wait with baited breath for a sequel.
