Love this series one of my favorites so rereading it very beautifully written love story
Wow! I am in awe of this book. The author writes so beautifully and there is so much passion and emotion in this book and within the two main characters.
Eva and Gideon both have dark pasts and inner demons that are very troubling in their budding relationship and they noticeably still have a lot of obstacles to overcome together if they want their relationship to work. Which they do; their passion and desire for each other is endearing, sexy, and beautiful.
I love (for the most part) how they communicate and try to communicate. They are mostly very honest with each other about their insecurities and fears and everything else which is amazing considering lack of communication and honesty seem to be common issues in modern relationships. In addition to this, I find that Eva and Gideon face modern insecurities, fears, and inner demons that a lot of us have within ourselves which makes them relatable in some ways.
Overall, this first book in this series was a riveting, passionate, beautiful story. I will most definitely be continuing with the series to see what becomes of Eva and Gideon's journey together.

You know what I like about this book? She’s not a “naive” girl like usual love interests. She is already rich and knows what to wear or not, used to the riches, knows her body and pleasures herself. She is a fucking adult and acts like it modt of the times.
There are a lot of comparisons to 50 shades. Though I think that the book has a more realistic story line. The writing is also better. Overall it is a good book
wish i could give 0 stars. people kept saying this was the better version of 50 shades so i was super excited but my god. wtf
oh this was worse than i ever remembered oh i hate them both
My hair is standing on end... Someone told me to read this series instead of the Fifty Shades of Grey because they were written better. Oh my gosh... Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore.
These books are actually kind of a fun escape. I cannot abide Erotic literature that demeans women, and I think Sylvia Day made her heroine so much better than some poor thing who was to be enslaved and dominated. I read it the first time after someone recommended it, and was rather shocked at the language and scenes. If you read this kind of literature, one has to get over that kind of hangup.
I admit to reading it a second time, and getting a totally different take on the hero, perhaps because of wariness towards domineering men.
Anyway, if you hate Erotic literature that demeans women, this is a much nicer book, and a fun read.
