oh this was worse than i ever remembered oh i hate them both
My hair is standing on end... Someone told me to read this series instead of the Fifty Shades of Grey because they were written better. Oh my gosh... Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore.
These books are actually kind of a fun escape. I cannot abide Erotic literature that demeans women, and I think Sylvia Day made her heroine so much better than some poor thing who was to be enslaved and dominated. I read it the first time after someone recommended it, and was rather shocked at the language and scenes. If you read this kind of literature, one has to get over that kind of hangup.
I admit to reading it a second time, and getting a totally different take on the hero, perhaps because of wariness towards domineering men.
Anyway, if you hate Erotic literature that demeans women, this is a much nicer book, and a fun read.

I rarely write reviews and I actually don't think that I have ever written one and yet here I am now. I've read this book way too fast cause I don't feel that it is tiring. The opposite actually. I didn't realize how I got form page 10 to page 100.
The reason I'm hiving it 4 stars instead of 5 despite how much I enjoyed it because of the whole leaving and coming back again. I get it that they both have issues deeply rooted inside them that hopefully they'll start working on soon but still in those pages I got bored of trying to count how many times they left the other ine and then came back only to leave a few minutes later and come back after sex. That was the only thing that got me tired.
Other than that I enjoyed it a lot more than other books similar to this, including the other that the main character has the same name as me. The writer has a great talent of setting the scene and describing the people that made me imagine them standing in front of me.
Soon I'll start the second one and I truly can't wait.

I don't even like 50 shades and i thought im going to like this books, but i dont. the plot and the character are just all over the place
There are some parts in this book that make me want to bang my head on the wall. Good to know sex can solve the problems that Eva and Gideon face - for awhile anyways.
Overall, I didn't think it was that bad of a read though I definitely did notice the similarities between this book and the Fifty Shades trilogy but I much preferred Sylvia Day's writing.

So great. SO much better than Fifty Shades of Grey. Had a strong female character who isn't a virgin at 23 (who is these days??!), who actually knows who she is and what she's doing. LOVE this book.
DNF. Started out as typical Brad, but halfway through there discussion of childhood SA and that’s not for me
I know you're going to ask. The answer is I'd seen this "Fifty Shades of Gray" book on the best seller list, and I was curious. Not curious enough to get the book and read it, but curious. Then, I get Mary's audiobooks from the library, and there's this "Bared to You". I look at Amazon, and it's rated 4.0, and everyone compares it to FSOG. Almost the same book, they say. So, I listened to "Bared to You". Why I actually got to the end of this tedious book is another story. I knew halfway through that 1) there would be no resolution, i.e. it would end "to be continued" (which I hate), and 2) that it wouldn't get any better. So, one star for a certain kind of "can't look away from the train wreck" ability to captivate.
Honestly, one of the strangest books I've ever read. At first I thought it might be satire. But of what? How can a book with this quote not be satire? "Gideon licked his lower lip, and my sex clenched in violent demand." But Goodread readers have rated this book 4.19, with over 80,000 ratings!
So, now I know the difference between men's and women's pornography. In women's porn, after the characters have sex, they go to couple's counseling! (Trust me, this does not happen in men's porn.)
OK, now I'm going to be judgmental. This book is evil. Someone needs to explain to me its popularity. This is the ultimate, "I know he's abusive, but I think I can change him" book. Except the author doesn't even bother to give the abusive boyfriend a sensitive side worth caring about. She hints that he was himself abused as a child, but does anybody on the planet think that excuses abusive behavior, or indicates that the abuser will someday reform? All the characters in this book are evaluated on the basis of not just physical beauty, but what I guess I'd call "hotness" (of course, they are all incredibly "hot"). Plus, all the characters are incredibly wealthy, and really don't do much outside their incredibly fabulous jobs other than go to the gym to work out (and, of course, have sex).
Here's a joke: The professor asked his class, "What human organ expands to 10 times its normal size when stimulated?" Nobody raises their hand, so he asks Mary to respond. She says, "Professor, I know the answer, but surely you can't expect me to say it aloud in class!" The Professor says, "Mary, your answer tells me three things. One, you didn't do the reading. Two, your mind is in the gutter. And three, some day you're going to be sadly disappointed." Enthusiastic readers of "Bared to You" may suffer the same fate. (If you haven't heard the joke before, the correct answer is the iris.)

i really got interested with the book because of Fifty Shades of Grey, but i must say, there's a big difference. the twist of the story got me going-- wondering what were the past of the two main characters, Eva and Gideon. every sweet moments got me smiling and it chills through my bones! there were a lot more love scenes here than in fifty shades, and i really love how they both can't live without each other.
I find Gideon's possessiveness as something really sweet. I love that Eva was smart, but with Gideon, she really can't resist him.
i find it funny, when they fight and they just ended up making love! haha..its always make-up sex.
I really like Cary but, by the end of the story, i kinda hated him for being such an asshole and fucking every person when in fact he has Trey! he's messing things up between the two of them. i loved Mark and Steven, and how Steven was like a fan of the Eva-Gideon love story..haha :D
overall, the story was awesome. the love scenes, the uniqueness of every character.. the mysteries in the main characters and the love story in it.! i really really love it..and can't wait for the second book!
