I arrived to the Queer Eye party verrrrry late and know JVN through instagram after a friend started sending me their endlessly inspiring, joyful, ebullient posts. We agreed to read the book together, and my week could not have gone better because of it. Who doesn't want the person who has been through IT ALL to be hilariously telling you that you'll make it, too, from the other side of the ravine?? Read it, recommend it all around. We love you, JVN, even though we know the "whole story".

Loved the audiobook and don’t think the book would hit the same way without Jonathan’s narration.
This was the giant JVN hug that I didn't even know I needed. His light tone throughout the book made the potentially difficult topics manageable and delicious. Moments of authentic revelations and factual breakdowns of his own behavior woven perfectly with Jonathan being his adorably charming self. I can't really say enough about this book except that GET THE AUDIOBOOK.
I adore him so I knew I would love it. He is honest and it is inspiring how he shows a path to self love.
If you love the reboot of Queer Eye you will adore JVN’s book. It is all him: open, honest, and sharing his dark past, with amazing positivity and self love. This was a quick, read that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. He is proof that no matter how many times life can shit on you, there’s no reason not to treat everyone with kindness, and be a damn Queen while doing it.

I think the audio book was definitely the right choice. JVN narrates it and I don’t think it would be the same without their specific personality. This is an extremely vulnerable dive into life before fame.
