Recommend listening to the audiobook with his narration.

So raw, honest, and vulnerable. One of my favorite celebrity memoirs!

A very funny book.

A memoir of Queet Eye's Van Ness' life. This book was not what I was expecting, Van Ness speaks about sexual assault, loss, and sex/drug addictions. There are still moments of joy and Jonathan's sassy self, but it was also a lot deeper dive than I was expecting. I enjoyed Karamo and Tan's books a little better, but overall, this was a good read.

Jonathan is the queer eye guy whose puzzle I wanted to solve. I loved Tan’s and Karamo’s stories, but I knew there was some depth to JVN that isn’t shown much on the show.

As he often mentioned, he shared his story to help others, and his courage and forthrightness impressed me to no end.

Sadly, Jonathan was abused for much of his life, first by everyone else, then by himself. In the health and political climates of 2020, shouldn’t stories like this make all of us stop and think how much we hurt each other, and that it’s time to stop?

I’m glad Jonathan has come through and can be himself, it’s a feat, and the work never really ends. But, he’s proof positive that we can all live a healthy, happy life, no matter who or what we come up against.

Listened as an audiobook and could not stop. Listening to JVNs voice telling his story is the experience I didn’t know I needed.

audiobook - one of the absolute best audiobooks I've ever listened to, I binged it in 24 hours. so funny, so honest, what a life JVN has had. he has a very inspiring story of overcoming and persevering. an excellent listen.

Pretty sure this is my first memoir from someone I am familiar with. Like the title said, it was really a raw journey. Obviously there is always more to a person than their tv personality, but I'm blown away by how much JVN went through. Their point of writing this memoir was to show that they also have parts that weren't all glamorous as their personality on Queer Eye. Seeing how their life led to Queer Eye was heartfelt. They worked hard to be in the place they're in now.

Life gives you millions of opportunities to fuck it all up, but it doesn't excuse you from trying again or working towards your best self.

TWs are included in the book.

A memoir, sex ed, and self help book all in one. JVN is a serious multitasker. Loved this!

I am now a JVN fan. :) What a sweetheart he is.
