My only issue with this book is that it wasn't 100 pages longer. It was a quick, beautiful read. I wish I'd had the audio!

Honestly, better than I was expecting. As with many memoir audiobooks, read by the author, which undoubtedly made it better. It started out a little all over the place, but as it continued, there was a clear flow and character progression that was needed to tie the anecdotes and life events together. As with many memoirs I read, a great reminder that people are human, with very human stories and experiences shaping them. Am genuinely glad I listened to it.

Ugh. Will always have a soft spot for this beauty. Jonathan's raw account of life before Queer Eye honestly helped me realize a lot about myself and some other people in my life. So grateful he's sharing his story.

Highly entertaining and basically exact what you'd expect. JVN talks about real and raw personal experiences in a way that will hopefully pave the way for others to do the same. Super short audiobook listen and JVN performs it himself. Feels almost like listening to an extra-long podcast.

I wouldn't bother with this unless you're already a fan of JVN. Because of his unique voice, this was a really entertaining audiobook and JVN did not disappoint. Ultimately, I'm glad JVN uses his platform to amplify LGBTQ voices and combat HIV stigma but his rise to fame reads like someone who's been given many, many chances, often enabled by his family's money and his ability to charm without really having to face anyone he disappoints. He seems extremely self-focused and, while his message of self-care is admirable, I'm not sure the messenger really ever does anything else.

I already loved Jonathan before reading this and this book has only made love him more. This book perfectly shows how the dark and the light often live alongside each other in our lives and teaches us that no matter what life throws your way there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
The dark parts of this book are treated delicately and with care while still being raw and honest. The ending still manages to lift your spirits and make you genuinely believe that everything will be okay.
