Honest and open telling of his life so far, even when it is not flattering or happy. JVN's ongoing positivity and calls for engagement on tough issues balance the hard realities.

Not exactly well-written but he has an endearing personality and a fabulous sense of humour that make up for it.

JVN is not a writer and it shows. This was a fast read and I enjoyed learning more about him, but he translates much better on screen.

Loved this!! JVN is such a shining star and I loved reading about his life. There’s a lot that puts him in a negative light, but he accepts his mistakes and flaws and doesn’t try to give fake excuses. He knows he’s done some shitty things, but at the end of the day, he’s learned from them and became the QE star we all love!!!

You really have to like JVN to read this, which isn't a negative thing!

Can’t say enough good things! I love JVNs honesty and transparency into his journey!

I'll caveat my review with the fact that I'm a huge Queer Eye fan and huge JVN fan. I also listened to the audio version of this, which is read by JVN himself and HIGHLY recommend going that route.

Long story short, I freakin' loved this book. I laughed. I cried. I felt all the feelings. I honestly wanted it to be a slower read so it could last longer. Jonathan is a gorgeous spirit who tells his story with strength. 5/5 for me.

I very much enjoyed this. I liked how honest and real he wax about his story and the things he went through. This was totally worth my time. I would definitely recommend this. I liked him talking his a experience as a queer man in a conservative part of The US as well as his struggles of being an out gay man.

Trigger warning: talk of sexual assault, drug abuse, STI’s, infidelity.

Loved watching JVN on Queer Eye and needed to read this book. Appreciated the depth and vulnerability JVN went to in order to write this book.

Oh JVN! As an avid Queer Eye fan I was ecstatic to get this book and read about all the many sides of JVN that make him the personality we all know and love from the show. His story is one of trauma, self-reflection, resilience and owning up to ones scars and truths. I loved how vulnerable and honest he was about his tumultuous past and the steps he had to take to become who he is today. It’s a wonderful memoir with all the little quirks and saucy clap backs we love to hear from JVN. A must read for any queer eye fan.
