This book was okay. I liked the characters. They didn’t do anything to severely piss me off. And it was better than the last sports romance I read. I think that their love was cute and the emotions going on felt real and not like a reality TV show because the actual responses were consistent through the characters story and past

this book was so fun to read. It was well paced and funny and intriguing but more than any of that it made me feel seen. There really aren’t many books with transmasculine main characters, and the excitement felt seeing someone who looks like me on the cover of book made it impossible not to buy at the local store. 
With the current state of affairs, it can be hard to find trans joy, and i feel like this book is the epitome of that.

I don't like baseball, and I rarely read romance novels, but I found this one to be delightful! I enjoyed seeing how the various relationships developed throughout the book, and even teared up at one point! The baseball stuff was boring to me, but I knew going into it that that would be the case. This was the first sports romance I've read and will likely be my last, but I'm glad I read it for the characters and their story!

Oh, to live in a world where an openly trans gay man can make it in pro sports. These kind of stories are so important right now. And the beauty of it is you don’t have to be gay or trans to appreciate the love story, the baseball, the fear of wanting for fear of failure, the figuring out what you really want via what other people want for you. A special read.

This is exactly what I needed! Hopeful, funny, and surprisingly spicy, this is an instant comfort read.

Gene is so funny and the forever optimist with an extremely tender heart. Luis is an anxious, maybe more than slightly neurotic grump, but really he is such a soft lover boy🥺 The mental health representation along with the queer and trans representation was so well written and done with care🩷

I am such a sucker for a good “loathe” to love, especially when they’re mad at each other because they find the other so attractive (a peak and underrated micro trope🤌🏼). But I especially loved that we get the yearning and pining from both sides; it makes it even more giggling-and-kicking-my-feet inducing once they get together! And the spice???? The desperation and absolute NEED for each other was palpable through the pages. This is also my petition to have all authors write all of their MMC’s to be switchy and pathetically desperate for their love interest(s)🙂‍↕️🙏🏼❤️‍🔥
