“If two hearts are destined together, love isn’t going anywhere”
Can I just say,I loved, loved, loved the fact that Lucas Stone was book coded.

When Macy said”So it’s been said… when you write, sorrows disappear” yeah well for us readers it’s “when you read, sorrows disappear.

I just didn’t like how Lucas distanced himself from Macy about the London Job if they would’ve discussed it things would’ve been better but the ending wouldn’t have been the same so that part was truly necessary.
Macy is an overthinker one thing that made me relate to her a lot.
The ending was brilliant super awesome ❤️❤️

One thing I’ve learnt from the book is “you never really know it’s worth it until you give it a shot”
Ps.the book is spicy

lol this book had me SO confused. don’t get me wrong, i know this is meant to be a fun, lighthearted rom-com and i shouldn’t take it too seriously but through it all i lost interest in this read pretty quickly.

it started off with a lot of charm, and i thought the characters were fun and relatable. they talked a lot like they were horny high schoolers more than actual adults but the dialogue was fun in the beginning so i was willing to overlook that!! but as the story progressed, everything kind of just fell apart.

the mmc, Lucas, is meant to be this clueless football player type that’s hopelessly in love with his best friend, Macy, but he’s so frustratingly bljnd to the fact that Macy is also in love with him that he starts off the book dating another girl. i know she’s meant to be a terrible person, and she is, but before we even meet her, Lucas is already talking so much shit about her?? like it doesn’t seem like he likes her at all which makes him dating her so confusing and just generally made his character a little less likable.

the last third of the book also has the most ridiculous, unbelievable plot. after everything Lucas and Macy have gone through, the slightest inconvenience that could be easily solved with one conversation causes Lucas to act like a BABY and lowkey a manipulator and just honestly undoes everything they were working towards in the beginning 2/3. it’s a very unsatisfying plot point and almost turned me off completely.

and what is the deal with all the female characters in this book giving up their career dreams for their men??? there’s multiple times in this entire story where multiple women give up their personal careers for the convenience of their boyfriends and it’s just so weird and unlike their characters. there’s also this whole portion where lucas’s mom tells macy to put her career on halt to support lucas and “stand by her man”?? WHAT. he has literally never asked her to do this. there’s just a lot of moments in the book that it begins to feel like propaganda at a certain point and just generally anti-feminist.

again, i’m conflicted because i know i should not be taking this book so seriously but there was so many parts that just unexplainably pissed me off so bad. half of it was fun! the other was not.

Overall a good book

Then why the two stars. It felt like it moved to fast. What would be considered the good parts were quick but I know what the inside of their house looks like.

I liked characters. I think I would have liked them more if I got a chance to know them more.

Would read the author again. Editing was good.
