I can admit that I picked this book up because it was written by Murr of Impractical Jokers. And now that I have read it, I won't be able to look at him the same again. There are some very horrific, nasty descriptions of child murder and dismemberment. I can handle a lot and even I struggled at some points. But besides that I liked the premise that the main character was a juror of a high profile murder case that gets harrassed by the public after the verdict. The heart pounding pace of the latter half of the book when Maria is on the cruise ship is what pushed this to four stars for me. I ate it up within 2 days. It was a good book but not for the faint of heart.

Can you imagine being trapped on a 6 day cruise with a murderer? Two years ago, Maria was on a jury decided the fate of a serial murderer named Wyatt who is ultimately found not guilty. She knows details about the crimes no one else knows. Now she is on a cruise with her children and her boyfriend traveling to Europe. About halfway to their destination, crimes similar to her jury case are happening and Maria wonders if Wyatt could be onboard. Warning , the crimes are brutal especially because they are children.

very entertaining and a super fast read but it was so predictable. also not a fan of stereotypical villainy speeches

Murr from impractical jokers ate on this one. Genuinely one of my fav mysteries.

First off, trigger warning for murdered kids. And after reading some reviews, I feel like a terrible person for enjoying this book that has kids as the murder victims... but here we go. I really enjoyed this one! It was a bit slow at first for me but once we got on the cruise ship and things started happening, the pace picked up and I couldn't stop listening. I listened to the whole audiobook while working so it's a very quick read. It does get gory but gore and horror don't bother me (and apparently murdered kids don't either 🤷‍♀️). I enjoyed the locked room mystery style of the book, using the cruise ship ad the 'locked room' and even though you have your suspicions about who is being the murders, you aren't (or at least I wasn't) quite sure if your correct. The twists and reveals were good and kept me guessing until the end. I can see this being classified as a popcorn thriller read, just with some added gore.
