In The Prison Healer, Kiva has been a prisoner of Zalindov for ten long years. Long enough to become the best healer in the prisons, to become renowned as the Warden's whore, and to know she will never get out on her own. But when a rebel queen is captured and she's tasked with keeping her alive by contact smuggled in from outside the prison by her family, she'll do anything to do so - even take the queen's place in the Trials by Ordeal.
Sometimes, I get a vibe that I'll really like a book, and I end up reading it. I hadn't heard anything about this novel before picking it up and only saw one social media post about it halfway through reading. To be frank, not enough is said about this story online or in public spaces. Noni's The Prison Healer is a masterclass of tension, plot twists, rising stakes, and best of all - characters worth losing sleep over. I was immersed in this story from the moment I started reading, and I wish I would've gotten to it sooner.
Although I wish the main character, Kiva, would've been more active in surpassing her trials than she was, it was a thrilling and entertaining read. Definitely one that kept me up far too late at night. I've already ordered the remaining books in the trilogy, and can't wait to dive into them!

I almost stopped reading… almost. I’m glad I kept going and pushed through. I guessed a lot of the ending, but it was still a nice surprise.
