Wow.. I have so many thoughts- but damn that was amazing..

- Kiva is amazing I love her, her backstory broke me..
- I love her and Tipp together, like brother and sister.. best found family..
- the story about her being the prison healer, her helping the prisoners and staying alive like that..
- Kiva and Jaren AAAAAAH my babies I love them sm!!

- I find it hard to describe the rest.. so much happened.. all the riots, the disgusting guards basically graping the prisoners and using angel dust as they see fit.. it's terrible..

- Jaren is the crown prince.. he was the reason she survived the trials of ordeal..
I somehow knew it.. I knew he would be more than just a prisoner/rebel.. and I'm glad he told Kiva.. ofc she felt betrayed when she found out, but he couldn't have just told her, so I get him!
And he has the power to use all the Magic.. Earth, Air, Fire and Water..
He cares so much for her and he trusted her with that knowledge..

- And Naari.. oh I love her so much as a character, truly..

- the encrypted message.. KIVA GIR..
KIVA IS A CORRENTINE
She's the rebel daughter.. so Tilda was her mother.. trying to get her- and she got to her, but she died..
And Kiva, she told the rebels where she'd be.. since she's going with him- with Jaren..
that's why she hates/hated the Vallentis.. but she doesn't hate Jaren.. there's a connection between them..
I need her to tell him soon..- this will surely break his trust.. omg I can't, I cried so much when I read those few words..
This seems like it could complicate so much- since the rebels will try and come for her, right?? And Jaren is the crown prince- they want his crown..

- But there's more to these two.. they'll find a way through this, right??
I sure hope so..

I have the other 2 books too, so I'll definitely read them fast- I have to know what happens next!

Kiva is a young woman who has been held captive at the kingdom prison for most of her life, she is serving as healer in the prison fortress. She’s 17 but comes across very wise and mature for that age.
In the background of all of this there is an impending rebellion which her family on the outside may be apart of, and the queen of the rebellion gets locked away in the prison under Kivas care. Without spoiling, there are multiple reasons why Kiva must keep her alive which ends up being a very daunting task.
The story itself was pretty good. There were some reveals that picked up intrigue, I liked the characters especially Kiva and Naari, Jaren was cool too once I really got to know what he was about.
This book wasn’t perfection for me, but it was awesome regardless. The cliffhanger at the end got me though, on to the sequel!

**coming back to edit after reading the sequel:
The Prison Healer only barely scratches the surface of who Kiva is and what she’s about. There is so much more coming…so much more.
