definetly better than the first book in the series. maybe my preference is based on the fact that these books are mostly BWWM and single parents and this one definetly highlighted the single parents bit more than the first with more inclusion of the kids

Darrell and Sunny are so cute together

They tickled me how they could not stand each other to their faces but privately they had a thing for each other. Sunny resolutely loved Michael and Bailey, Darrell's wards. With her mother and the social worker getting into her head, she thought Darrell was only using her. It was not until her being apart from the three mg she love did she
apart from them that she realize how much she missed them.

Michael and Bailey were such cute typical little boys who had lost so much in a short period of time. They really took to Sunny. But Sunny's mother was another thing altogether. I'm so glad I did not have a mother like her. And the social worker, I knew something was up with her. I just didn't figure out what it turned out to be

Out of the mouths of babes

It was Beth that reminded her mother that she was not perfect either, and made Dawn realize that Max Stinton was not the same man he was eight years ago and neither was she. They were both liars about things they did not want someone special In their lives to know. Throughout it all, even though Max forced Dawn into the contract, he still made sure that he protected information about Beth coming to light. Everything he did was to protect Dawn and Beth.

Dawn was falling for Max but she had to be very careful with her heart. She could not let her emotions carry her away like it did eight years ago while grieving the passing of her father. When she found out who sent the lawyers on her eight years prior, she thought that forgiveness was out of the question, but both of them were miserable without the other. Max missed his sexy smart-mouthed and witty mechanic and Dawn missed her workaholic man that was an undercover softy with a heart.

This story was well written and full of mystery and drama hanging over it. The reader did not know what to expect next in the storyline. Max learned that the Stinton Group was not that important to him anymore. He also learned to let his brother manage his own life without his interference. One of the biggest things he learned was why his mother tried her best to keep him away from the Stinton family, including his no longer needing the approval of his father. But he also realized that the best way to protect Dawn and Beth was to stay in control of the company. He becomes a better man because of Dawn and Beth. That was something his brother would never be.

this book just didn't do anything for me. when i read a romance, i want equal parts of romance and sex. i want to be kicking my feet and giggling. i want necessary pauses between lines because i'm too excited for what's (or who's) to come.

★★★★✰

Okay, I can't really give it a five stars but it is worth the four.

Sunny, I know you will never read this, but you broke my heart.

Darrel, you two , don't worry.

Normally I don't like found family tropes but god it is good. Sunny is really A SUNSHINE LIKE. This girl kept her chin up whenever Darrel insulted her and I really admire that. Plus not a lot of bullies regret that much and I felt really bad for her when she learned the truth..

Of course, I felt bad for Darrel, he lost her sister and got bullied by the love of his life ( by accident ). and I really admire him for not breaking down and forgiving her. His love were so hard, strong and powerful he just told her IN FRONT OF HER MOTHER HE LOVED HER FOR GOD SAKE. I want a man like that in my life.

Finally, I feel like I must talk about Bailey and Michael. These kids are incredible and though but it made me smile so much when Sunny coaxed them that easily compared go Darrel.

Just go read that book if you haven't.
