I love this series. Something about it was soothing and I am sad that this is the final book in the series.

Nice change of pace, still with the mature but mistake-making Ishmael. Didn't love the trope-y nature of some of the plot points...but I still want to know what happens next for this older and slightly darker Ishmael.

1) Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

2) Genre: Science Fiction

3) Synopsis: Ishmael Wong if off to yet another adventure. We have watched him grow up all the way, to where he is now. He continues to enrich lives but he has hit a rut. Until he is fired.

4) Feelings: I love this series. Went through all six books in just a few weeks.

5) Final recommendation: Read it. Listen to it. Somehow or another get this story into your head.

06/17/2013 - the final book in the Solar Clipper series. This is an excellent series. Book 6 actually was one of the best ones. I was hoping for more people from previous books to show up. Not that it detracted from the story but who doesn't like a nod to the older books.

Needless to say this is an excellent series. Don't start with this one though. Start from the beginning and enjoy every minute.

Better and worse

Better character development, more interesting and expansive cast, more story than book five all good except fridging an important character to inspire growth or change is a tired trope and unworthy of the series.

Definitely an evolution in style of book from prior books in the series. I am looking forward to more from this author.

So good and so very sad. Don't listen at work if you don't want questions about why you're crying. I cried for Ish. Brilliant series. I can't recommend this highly enough. I'm ready to sign on as a quarter share and take off for the stars. 10 star series even though Mr. Lowell appears to be a sadist :)

Four stars because most of the book was excellent, assuming you liked the previous installments. Hated the ending. I don't think it fit the tone of the series at all; its only saving grace is that the Seeker's Tales apparently continue the story (though I haven't read them yet).

I really enjoyed this book. It ended the series nicely.
