From Bad to Cursed literally went from bad to worse. I thought I would give Lana Harper books another try because it’s spooky season, and regret it. This feels like it was written by the same people who write for Disney Channel TV shows: constant “witty” remarks, endless banter, and wordy run-on sentences. People don’t actually talk like that. If I heard someone, in full sincerity, use the phrase “raging assboat” or say “it makes me want to kiss that look right the f*ck off your perfect little face”, I would no longer talk to that person.

The banter kept going on and on, and each character had to get one last joke in. I’m half convinced that Issa and Rowan don’t even like talking with each other, they just like to hear themselves talk. Such a shame that an enemies-to-lovers trope was overshadowed by their insufferable dialogue.

In the end, we were given a 2-page explanation of the entire plot at the climax. If you need to spell everything out in such detail, then maybe it’s not a good “twist” or you need more world building prior to the last 30 pages of the book.

Overall, I don’t recommend. Go watch Practical Magic if you want a spooky and comforting story.

I liked the first book in the series better but this one was still cute.

I would like to thank the publisher for asking me to review an arc of book three for bringing this into my life.

I was very hesitant considering I didn’t even finish book one but honestly? I loved this, a real enemies to lovers (their families have hated each other for centuries, as comes into play here) with magic that, ultimately, balances each other out.

There’s a lot of learning that happens here, learning to train yourself and to trust others and I won’t lie, I did cry at one point over something that hit too close to home.

Is this book an all time favourite? Absolutely not but it was enjoyable and it was the witchy summerween read that I needed.

Cute witchy romance. Slow burn, rivals to lovers. I think I liked the first one better but it was a fun read.

Almost four stars. It's well written, I just didn't fall in love with the protagonists the way I did in the first book in the series. Would still love to be a Thistle Grove witch.

Much better than the first- better characters, better story, all around liked this better. I wish there was a little more spice, but I can dream. 3.5/5
