Dare I say this book is better than the first? It's charming, romantic and best of all witchy. As the cast of characters expands we get to see more of Thistle Grove and continue to build on the magic system. Issa and Rowan are actually believable in the often overused opposites attract cliche. I loved seeing them recognize their own accountability for past actions and being adults who can take ownership, apologize and move forward. Plus that swimming scene was

DNF at 45% because I’m not interested reading something that has an entire scene where the main character looks down on their waiter for no reason. This added nothing to the plot, it wasn’t necessary, and it felt mean and entitled. These books aren’t good enough to look past that.
