I got this in a recent @tropesandtrifles bookswap, and I’m so glad I snagged it! Such a fun and fast witchy romcom.
Isidora’s town has some rival magical families. When hers gets blamed for a curse that cause the other family to have a person lose their magic, Isidora and Rowan must investigate the mysterious curse together.
I hadn’t read the first in this series and this is cute enough that I’ll probably go back for it!

sometimes….dialogue can be Too contemporary. like what the hell are u talking about. anyway some rocky moments and JUMPSCARE ass spice but one thing about me i thouroughly enjoy a little mystery and buddycop private eye investigation! also jfc i hope lana is in therapy for all the family shit she's clearly are working thru!!

i liked this a lot more than the first book! I'm thinking it's a mixture of this one just being better and the fact I've read more books that are going for this vibe than I had before. they are mostly terrible - so I appreciate this series all the more. maybe it seemed less cheesy because some of the world building was already set up? either way the cute puff fluff was balanced well with the spooky stuff - ghosts! demons! mystery!
