Another fun story in the Hannah Swensen mystery series. Larry was someone you could definitely see getting murdered and there was no shortage of suspects from his sketchy past. I was able to guess the killer ahead of the reveal, but it was still a fun read with some entertaining twists.
The killer was lowkey dumb for that slip up they made. And I’m tired of Mike & Norman acting like a smitten throuple. At least Mike has the backbone to date other women. Hannah can’t be mad when she’s literally doing the same thing.
It was ok. It was very predictable and it seemed to drag on at times.
MUCH better than the Sugar Cookie Murder, which was another holiday mystery. I really enjoyed this one, although it's becoming VERY clear which of her suitors Hannah should choose. There are a couple of recipes I really want to try too!
lighthearted
mysterious
Another enjoyable mystery in Lake Eden. It's once again Christmas time in the town, and Hannah's slaydar is in full gear. Interesting mystery and quite the ending to the book. The only aspect I did not love was that Hannah returned to her 'oh Mike save me' mentality that had, refreshingly, been missing from the previous few books. This book contains all of Hannah's recipes for her Christmas dinner, including the title, plum pudding.
It took so long for any action to take place that the murder just seemed secondary. Then it was really hard to care about the person who was murdered. He had no rooting value to find his killer. The killer was kind of a ho hum character. It really seemed as if a tiny little bit of plot was woven around the recipes to get a book out in time for Christmas. Some hints that Hannah may choose Norman.

Light and Fluffy and fun! It was exactly what I was looking for in a cozy. This is generally a very comfortable series.
I skipped over book #11 since it wasn't available for download from my library, and I don't think I missed anything.
I particularly liked that Hannah actually seemed to be making some progress with her dueling suitors, and it is in the direction I'd choose for her. I wouldn't be surprised for this to all be undone in the next book, which would disappoint me tremendously, but for now I'm happy.
The dessert recipes made me hungry, as usual. One day, I'll actually try making one of them. The characters are generally likable.
I didn't buy the storyline with Norman's mother, but it wasn't unexpected, given the history of the series.

This one was okay. I've stuck with this series and have all of them on my bookshelf so I can't stop reading them LOL.
Hannah is seriously killing me with the Mike/Norman crap. Mike is a total sleezeball - absolutely rude and crude. Norman practically kisses the ground Hannah walks on and she STILL can't pick who she should be with? Really??
The recipes are starting to fill up the books and they are mentioned almost as much as the story in the actual storyline. However, they all sound good.
Recipes from this book: Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Chip Pretzel Cookies, Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies, Chocolate Raspberry Truffles, Christmas Bell Salad, Christmas Cheese Rounds, Christmas Lace Cookies, Cranberry Scones, Dixie Lee’s German Apple Cake, Easy Cheesy Biscuits, Frosted Ginger Cookies, Frosting Splatters, Fudge-Mallow Cookie Bars, Hard Sauce, Holiday Squash Soup, Holly Jolly Coffee, Hot Fudge Sundae Cake, Jeweled Pork Roast, Lingonberry Gravy, Minnesota Plum Pudding, Nancy Dunn Cookie Bars, Orange Julius Cookies, Petite Green Pea Boats, Pineapple Cranberry Jell-O Salad, Pork and Beans Bread, Scandinavian Spuds, Shrimp Louie Spread, Soft Sauce, Triple Threat Chocolate Cheesecake Pie, and White Chocolate Pumpkin Dreams.
