My first (translated) Polish book and it only had two pages worth of written text. To say that I am underwhelmed is an understatement. The words are meant to be deep, but I wasn't moved at the slightest. Probably would have if I had read and could understand the original text, though it's a probability that I wouldn't ever know for sure. Beautiful illustrations though, showcased a lot of aroids so that earns it an extra star.

Since we live in a world where rushing is seen as the new normal, I shall cherish every book that talks about the beauty of slowing down and waiting. Simplicity always has its way to win my heart over, and I am grateful for this heartwarming short story that serves as a reminder to appreciate our inner child and to live instead of dragging ourselves to survive. The art style makes me feel like an observer, silently witnessing people go through their days soullessly, subtly rooting for the souls to catch up with their owners, boldly admiring how beautiful the world is when we put our soul in everything we do.

I get the use of graph paper, the translucent sheet, the shift to color, the message... but it didn't really move me.
