A shipful of kidnapped women crash-land on a frozen planet that is of course, totally uninhabited.
It's uninhabited, right?

Plot
This is one of those stories that is prolific, both physically and metaphorically, within the romantasy/sci-rofantasy(?) circles of every social media app that has ever existed. So let's look at why...
❄️ Good writing - ✅
❄️ Interesting characters - ✅
❄️ Ginormous men with big *ahem* - ✅
❄️ A new planet filled with adventure and definitely not enough native women - ✅
❄️ An insta-love interspecies soul-mate couple - ✅
For some reason this wasn't my first Dixon story, I started with her first minotaur book, and I'm glad I gave this a go. I did however struggle with my rating and I think I've settled with a 3.5, and that is entirely related to the dub-con meet cute between our leading characters. Now, I don't mind a sprinkling of dub-con, but not when the characters haven't even met yet. Just cause she liked it, doesn't make this okay. Okay? If it wasn't for this, it would be a solid 4 rating.
Characters
FMC
I don't mind Georgie - she's a simple girl, but proves to be very brave despite the odds at the beginning of the book, heading out to try and find them all help. There isn't a huge amount of depth beyond this, and she falls head over heels IMMEDIATELY when a seven foot tall blue guy gets all up in her between me down there's. She's also pretty dumb, wandering blindly through the wilderness despite having zero survival skills, totally undermining her initial act of bravery. She ends up getting rescued, like, a lot and outside of becoming the spokesperson for the women, remains fairly helpless.
MMC
Vektal is a uhh ginormous blue alien with a symbiotic organism that chooses his life mate? I don't really like or dislike him as a character, and given the extreme differences in not only language but also culture, he does a gosh darn good job trying to bridge the gap. He clearly cares for his people, while wanting the best for all the new humans, even if the 'how' doesn't quite line up initially.
The Rest
The rest of the cast are, well, there.
The Chemistry
This book suffers from a chronic case of insta-love and never really evolves beyond this. The two leads don't have any chemistry until closer to the end when they actually stop screwing and start talking to each other.
The Good
Y'all know I love this premise, and I did enjoy the addition of some native women just to even out the sausage fest.
The Bad
Meh.
The Ugly
The non-consensual activities at the beginning of the story were unnecessary and added nothing to the plot. The bit on the ship was what? Supposed to traumatise the ladies? They've been kidnapped, mission accomplished. The story would have remained almost entirely unchanged if that section and the character in it was entirely removed. Or she could have been included in the rest of the plot.
Then onto their meeting. Again for those in the back, just because she likes it afterwards, doesn't make it okay.
The Wrap Up
A giant blue sausage fest.
It's uninhabited, right?
