it's a hilarious book about motherhood. Ashley Keller is a career mom who stays home once he baby is born. she gets to navigate all the joys and complications o of motherhood. she becomes lonely and enlists the company of her mother in law and then the breast feeding mom's group. when am opportunity arises, Ashley participates in the motherhood better boot camp. she jumps at the chance to become a better mom with the help of her hero and favorite blogger. she reminded me that motherhood is hard and can be lonely. it's important to find your spot and your village.
This was a cute read. It's about a new mom with a baby finding herself after switching from being a career woman to a stay-at-home mama. It pokes fun at the "pinterest" "Super mom" myths and stereotypes out there, but really at it's core, it's a nod to how difficult motherhood is and that every type of mom has struggles. I like that it debunks the myth that anyone is a perfect mom, but instead focuses on breaking down those uber curated lifestyles and pushes you to find the real places to be yourself with other moms and your husband. Perfection will not solve the issues.
It's told in a snarky tone that it is entertaining.
I would have enjoyed this one more if I had been back in those early days of motherhood. As a mom of 4 boys, the oldest being teens and the youngest 10, I find myself so far out of that era, that my struggles aren't the same.
I loved that Bunmi brings her honest toddler humor and wit to the fiction genre. I listened to the audio and enjoyed it. What I would consider a light read.

This was cute, easy read, certainly felt I saw glimpses of myself. I recommend it.
This book was a fun summer read. I can't wait to talk about it at bookclub with friends. One friend actually had an identical situation that was mentioned in the book (about gym childcare) happen to her the day after she read that part, so this book is totally relatable! There are a few parts that get far fetched, but overall I recommend this to moms of young children that need a laugh and a reminder that we are all doing our best. I laughed a lot!
Relatable AF
I loved this book. I howled with laughter (out loud, in public) and wept real, mascara-y tears (also in public). Sometimes it was a bit extra, but so is life, especially when you're battling PPD, your hormones are still kind of wonky and your life is CRAZY. I wish I'd read this book a few years ago, when my daughter was a baby and i was struggling.

Light hearted, easy read. I found it a little relatable, laundry sucks, crafts are hard and kids are cute as heck when their sleeping.
The theme is simple and one I'm seeing more in contemporary fiction: don't compare your life to someone else's highlight reel.
Ashley is a new mom whose motherhood ideal is falling super short of reality.
She wins a chance to be mentored by a Mommy Lifestyle guru and we follow her through the twelve week boot camp.
I found Ashley relatable. Given that I don't craft, cook, or clean, I imagine I would be a lot like her if I had kids.
The book was light, funny, and I definitely have more empathy for moms than I did before.

I rarely give books more than 3-stars. This book made me laugh, cry, understand and it's completely relatable. Any woman with a kid and/or husband will find something to relate to. I finished the book in 6 hours and have found a new favorite author. I cannot wait for another book by this amazing brutally honest author!
Well written, predictable, lovely fluff. We read this in my book club-- there wasn't much substance to discuss, but we all did enjoy it!
This book is told from the standpoint of a SAHM of an eight month old baby girl. I thought the book sounded good in the description, because I remember those sleepless nights while I was on maternity leave.
However, to me, it seemed as if the main character complained all the time and she was a bit careless, forgetful, and not the brightest bulb in the bunch.
I gave up on reading this book 40% in because of the character's constant complaints. It was bringing my mood down horribly!
Can't win 'em all, so I'll move onto another book.
