The only reason why I am giving this two stars is because I laughed twice. Twice in 300 pages. Most of this book was me complaining to anyone who would listen (including my poor students) how much I hated the main character.

Minor spoilers:

Who the fuck spends $8000 on furniture AFTER their husband was worried about a $40 dress.

I hated her from the beginning of the book to the end. I was actually rooting for her not to win the contest.

Plus the perfect mom... I mean come on. With my own personal trainer, chef, nanny, stylist, decorator, etc.. you would be surprised how much shit I could get done. Why is she perfect? Because she puts it on social media? I'll stick to cat videos.

Fun book

It is indeed a fun, real book about parenthood. Nice past time reading, maybe during a flight. Unfortunately not my cup of tea...
funny fast-paced
Strong character development: Yes

I adore Bunmi and her social media presence. I wanted to love this book, and there were a couple good "breakthrough" moments I loved, but mostly it felt like one long rant about anti-Pinterest/sanctimommies and being a hot mess.

Similar to the Shopaholic books; quick fast read.

One of the most enjoyable reads I've had this year so far. I read the entire thing in two days. However, there were times I just wanted to shake Ashley for the choices she made and her utter cluelessness about the lives of those around her. Humorous, quick to read, quirky, but imperfect (much like our main character).
funny lighthearted fast-paced

I truly wanted to love this book. I’m a huge fan of its author and the premise was fantastic. I think I just needed more grit to it. Sophie Kinsella fans will love it.

This was reminiscent of Shopaholic and Baby, which I've read. Please don't judge me. But this book was super funny. The situations that Ashley got herself into were hilarious, and I just spent the entire time laughing at Ashley's bad luck.
Even though Emily Walker (or whatever her name is) is the most ridiculous, flamboyant mom in the entire universe, and the fact that I cringed every time Ashley talked about what she ate (I'm never looking at a peanut butter jar again), I learned to appreciate what mothers do and the pressure of their daily grind. I can never look at crafts the same way. A fluff book (since I currently have no time after school to get too deeply into a book), but a funny one nonetheless.
fast-paced

Incredibly relatable!!!
