This was my first novel by the author - and I REALLY liked it. Since I am picking up the latest book in the series, there were some other characters & back stories referenced - but this could totally be a standalone, as I didn't feel like I missed any details.

We've got some good tropes in here - age gap, golden retriever FMC, brooding, overprotective MMC etc. The chemistry, banter and relationship development is off the charts. I just loved reading about them circling each other and using that common love of surfing to bond and comfort each other. They've both got some major emotional baggage and secrets that they are hiding from their circles and how they help each other accept their respective truths - that's another journey in the book.

Overall, this is a very heartfelt and emotional read. I really enjoyed the pace, the plot and just watching these 2 characters find their way to each other ....i'm definitely trying more books in this series & working my way back!
