Redemption is a second chance story about life. While this is a book that follows two characters from Sharp's previous book, Reputation, it can be read as a complete standalone. Ash and Taylor are pulled from that prior world and set in another town, Carmel Cove, which is the backset to where their healing begins.
Ashton has always taken care of others to the point that it became a detriment of himself. To fill the void of what was missing in his life he began filling the empty hole with alcohol. A functioning alcoholic during the day and a blackout drunk at night. His life was deteriorating before him until Taylor stepped in and saved him. Unfortunately, he doesn't even remember the night his angel started his way towards redemption.
Taylor grew up in a very religious family, so showing up pregnant would not have gone well when she was still single. Instead she went to the one place or person she felt would understand. However, Ash had disappeared five months ago and she wasn't exactly sure he wanted to be found and she also wasn't sure he'd like the news she had to deliver.
Ash was rebuilding his life, sober, for the first time in a very long time. He was also living his life for himself, but when Taylor shows up at his doorstep, pregnant, everything changes.

Redemption, love, and life
Rock bottom is a place and unfortunately for some it isn't the actual bottom...there are places below it. Ash crawled out of those places to climb up to rock bottom. He was given a guiding hand and a new outlook on life. Redemption (and Caramel Cove) are a new start. A do over. A chance to change everything.
Ash's Redemption came in the form of a Pixie. Their love story is complicated and complex. It's hard won and worth every word.
I was already hooked by the story having read Reputation and been introduced to these two. I was already chomping at the bit for their story. Redemption has now given me a whole new family of friends to wait for. Caramel Cove is going to steal the hearts of those who read this book.
I will be at Roasters waiting for you!

An amazing and emotional book. A full box of tissues are needed while reading this book.
Redemption is the newest, angsty romance from this amazing author. If you had read and loved Reputation like I did, then you would be happy to know that this book is about Ash and Taylor. You don't need to read Reputation, but I suggest you do since what happened with Ash there continued in this book.
"Truth was she was too good for me even at my best, which is why I let her see me at my worst. Because only then would she come to me."
"She saw me at my lowest and still wanted the man underneath."
The story started when Ash was at his low and raging from the perceived betrayal that Zach did to him; by going back on his promise not to touch his sister, Blake. On this drunken night at the bar, Taylor (Blake's BFF) was there to help him get back safe to their hotel. He told her his guilt and insecurities and how it affected his judgment. He was always attracted to Taylor but kept her at a distance.
"But how do you regret giving up pieces of your life for someone you love? You don’t."
Taylor has always wanted Ash. How he always help make others dreams into reality and in the process, lose his own. She wanted him but her strict upbringing dictated most of her life. But when she saw how Ash was drowning in guilt, she decided to gave in for one night.
The story touches a subject that I felt was prevalent in the industry where they were part of. I was glad that Ash was strong enough to face it and eventually getting his redemption by moving to Carmel Cove.
There he started realizing his dreams and found the love with Taylor. Although it was process for them to be finally be together, with Taylor not wanting to burden Ash with the news of pregnancy and Ash with his fear that he will never be good enough for her, the build up was all worth it. I loved it. Redemption is a story of forgiveness, second chance at life, and the healing power of love. Another must read!

I don't know how many times I've tried to write this review now, I've lost count. Every time I try, my eyes tear up and I feel like screaming how unfair life can be.
Ash and Taylor's story is full of feels. From longing to love, remorse to redemption, new life to the end of it (no words seem adequate) their battle for their happy was exquisite. Smoking hot, desperate and deserving.
You see, this book.... (even now, 2 days later, I'm struggling to find adequate words) it was heartbreaking. Rebecca's note at the end of the book broke me. Not the story itself, but the story behind why she wrote it.

Oooohhh myyyy!! My soul... I don’t know if I can take this book! Or how to handle the astronomical amount of emotions I’m going through.
I fell head over boots (because I can’t wear heels. Lol!) with Ash and Taylor. I saw a lot of myself in both characters. Battling something so dark and heavy isn’t easy, especially when you feel alone. I wanted to crawl into this beautiful masterpiece and shake Ash. Why couldn’t he see the self-destruction of himself??? But when one is so consumed my such a poison, how can you see the rainbow that is Taylor?
I went round and round with this book. I even ugly-cried. And that doesn’t happen a lot for me. Dr. Sharp has a gift with words, making you fall so deeply into the world of Taylor and Ash that you can’t escape them.
I do have to admit that Taylor seriously disappointed me. Why keep her mouth shut when it wasn’t her secret to keep in the first place??? Probably my only disappointment honestly. Ash wasn’t a monster of a man. He wasn’t a jerk, didn’t abuse her. He may not have been perfect. Hell who is? But this was such an amazing book, my single dissatisfaction set aside. This is a must-read, and highly recommended for those in love of surprise babies. With forgiveness and true love nicely wrapped for all to enjoy.

Wow this was such a heartfelt read that was emotional and broke my heart only to put it back together again. Ash was struggling with his life, he spent it trying to help others find their happy that he put his own happiness on the back burner then it imploded. Set off by a series of events he hits rock bottom and with no way to go but up he left behind his life and set out to find himself and to get help. Taylor has known Ash her whole being best friends with his sister and been in love with him too. She grew up in a very strict Catholic home, so she denied her feelings for Ash out of Catholic guilt and Ash has loved her for so long but thought she was out of his reach. So, when she ends up on his doorstep needing his help, he doesn’t hesitate to open his doors to her. Ash has built a great life for himself especially getting the help he needed and if it weren’t for Larry his mentor he would be lost. Larry is a fantastic character, he took everyone under his wing, offered sage advice, and was there to help no matter what. He came off as a grump, but he was amazing while suffering himself. I don’t want to give too much of the story away because there are a few twists and turns but I was so happy that Ash found his Redemption and got Taylor while in the process of healing. This was truly a beautiful heartfelt story.
Sometimes there comes a time when the human being bottoms out and has two options. One is to stay deep in the dark, the other is to push you the moment you touch it to surface and survive.
Ash reached that point. His life, the environment he surrounded himself and his decisions helped him to immerse himself in alcohol. Losing control due to excesses. Until he decides to turn his life completely, to overcome his alcoholism, pursue his dreams and achieve the stability he needs. What he doesn't know is the change his life will give, when his sister's best friend decides to knock on her door...
Taylor is Ash's sister's best friend. For a long time she was attracted to Ash. He grew up around the dogmas of religion. Maybe very coerced of her wishes. Those who overflowed at the right time to unleash the fire that consumed her, when the opportunity to be close to him materializes.
Ash's evolution in his determination to rehabilitate and meet his goals is inspiring. The story itself is in some way. His humility, surrender, perseverance will enchant you. In the same way that the relationship with Taylor develops. She is that special person who helps make the best of him. She is his redemption.
There are moments of much angst in this story. One of the things that surprised me was knowing that one of the characters was inspired by the author’s grandfather, who suffered from severe depression. Rebeca's writing style is a poetic and philosophical one. You can clearly perceive that she spills his life experience in her words. It is one of the things I love in an author.
A beautiful story about overcome, dreams, trust, love, family, friendship and redemption.

I never expected to get a book about Ash, but I was so glad we did.
When we caught glimpses of him in “Reputation”, his temper was flaring, and it was taking a lot for him to come to terms with his baby sisters relationship with his best friend. And those glimpses of monster, made me wonder what was going on with this man.
Luckily, the world has been graced with the answers to this question.
Ashton Tyler is a broken man, trying to find his way out of the dark tunnel his life has become.
Taylor Hastings is a good girl with a big secret.
Watching these two collide, and help each other, even when they felt like they couldn’t help themselves was so satisfying.
And Larry’s story, woven into these pages made my heart hurt something fierce. I knew a Larry too, and this put him at the forefront of my mind.
A beautiful, poignant story about what comes after the “mistakes.”
“She is mine.” But it was more than that. “She is my redemption.”
