This was my first book by Rebecca Sharp and it was a very enjoyable experience. I loved the mutual pining and the tenderness between Ash and Taylor. I loved how loving and supportive they both were, especially Ash towards Taylor, even when he didn't know the truth. I also loved the discussion about addiction and forgiveness and how the biggest struggle takes place inside us.
I just didn't give the book 5 stars, because it needed a bit more editing to be honest. There were some small writing lapses that sometimes took me away from the story. Also, there was one big inconsistency in the plot that I just couldn't shake. People close to Ash knew he was on a path of self-destruction with how much he was drinking and partying. So, how come they did not know he was an alcoholic?

This one was ok. The MCs were very stock and didn't have any special traits. It was every surprise pregnancy troupe you've seen. 3/5. Nothing special but not awful.
This was my first book by Rebecca Sharp and she has left me speechless! This is by far one of the easiest 5 stars I’ve given a book. It didn’t matter that I wasn’t even halfway into the book when I knew this story would exceed those five stars it without question deserved.
As soon as I started reading I was immediately entranced. I knew right then not even a paragraph in that I wanted nothing more then for this book to never end. I was completely and utterly captivated by this story and this amazing group of people and their undeniable goodness. And as much as I liked every character in their own way—there was one that immensely surpassed everything, Ash undoubtedly owned every piece of my heart.
Ash is lost and in order to find himself he leaves to make himself better. For a long time alcohol was the answer. He tried to fill the void by drinking and not caring about the destruction his drinking caused. But after an incident occurs, he hates the damage he’s done because of his drinking. My heart shattered for Ash and what he was going through. There was so much more to him and he was so deserving of the redemption he was seeking. It’s no question I was rooting so hard for him and him accepting forgiveness.
Taylor was such a kind and caring person. She’s the one person who truly sees Ash. And one night when Ash desperately needs her help—she’s there for him and without knowing, Ash is also there for Taylor. After months have passed, Taylor finds Ash and thus begins their journey they never knew was in their grasp, but one they hoped for.
Ash and Taylor were everything. They both leaned on each other and were always there for one another. Even though Ash didn’t feel worthy and especially worthy of Taylor, she made him see how wrong he was. Ash was every bit deserving and deserved every good thing. My love for Ash and Taylor is beyond. I loved their friendship, I loved their love and I absolutely loved the journey to get them there.
Redemption was the journey one takes to seek forgiveness from others, but more importantly forgiveness from yourself. It’s angsty, downright emotional and everything beautiful. This story and Ash and Taylor will forever have a piece of my heart. I will cherish this book, always.
Rebecca, thank you for writing this book. I know you hadn’t planned to write it, but I’m so happy you did. After reading your author’s note I couldn’t stop the tears. You have no idea how much I needed this book. Thank you isn’t enough, but again—thank you, thank you, thank you for writing Ash’s story.
MUST READ
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

Dr. Rebecca Sharp has become a fast favorite of mine... and this book is a prime example of why. I love a book with a character that is a complete asshat, but throughout the book, they redeem themselves and the author did this with Ash, who is Blake's brother (from Reputation). He was not a character I liked very much. But once I started reading this and saw that the author was going that direction, I was a little taken back, I didn't think she could do anything that would make me fall in love with this character, but low and behold, she did. I am completely smitten with Ash now. This story has sort of personal feel to it for me. Not completely but the topics that this author writes about are topics that hit home hard for me, so it is safe to say I was a little emotional and consumed when it came to Ash and Taylor's story.
Ash is trying to escape the demons he lives with on a daily basis, he is trying outrun them, and within doing so he finds himself in Carmel... He's a high functioning alcohol that uses the substance to hide from his demons, to suppress the emotions that come along with those demons, but once in Carmel he starts to turn his life around, but not without struggle and not without realization of what this addiction had truly done to not only him but most important people in his life, one in which is Taylor.
Taylor has ALWAYS been there for Ash. She's seen him through rough times, she has seen him when he had almost hit rock bottom. Always by his side, always the first person to be there for him and throughout all that, he has developed feelings for him, and she for him as well. But what he thinks is a drunken haze dream he had is a reality and something that truly happened. Something Ash is struggling to remember, yet Taylor has never been able to forget.. but when it all comes to a head and the Ash finds out the truth, it's as though he's been given a second chance... It's taken countless mistakes, fighting demons off with toxic habits and behavior and him to really open his eyes for the first time in his life to finally see what has been standing in front of him the entire time. He starts to find what he needs in life, what he needs love and what he truly deserves and wants... But it took him to nearly lose everything and for his world to fall to pieces for him to finally realize the truth.
I went into this knowing it was gonna rip my heart out before I got that HEA, and it sure as hell did. I cried I laughed, I growled, I was so bent out of shape throughout the book, I found myself squeezing my kindle so damn tight it could have snapped. Like I said above, this story has a personal feel to it for me. I'm someone that has battled addiction, that has loved, lost, and fought so hard to get where I am today... So when it comes to plots like this? Well, they pretty much consume me. I get so invested, I get so emotional... and this book was already going to be emotional and raw for someone who doesn't and hasn't struggled, so it really did hit some hard spots for me, but that is what kept me reading too. I wanted to know Ash's story, I wanted to see what he did and does,... There were moments I wanted to climb into the book and smack him upright the head, and the same can be said about Taylor but really, I absolutely adored these two. They were made for each other and that was made known from the beginning. Addiction and all that comes with addiction are real issues in this world, I have lived with them myself and I've seen the people I love/loved struggle too. It's real, it's raw, it's scary and it can be hard to escape from. So to read a book such as this and see how the author worked these topics into it? It was amazing. She flawlessly wrote a raw, emotionally gripping, all-consuming, heartbreaking, tragically beautiful plot that I couldn't get enough of.
Truly, this book was amazing and I can't wait to see what she does with the secondary characters in this book, because even they went through more than anyone should in life... These struggles are real and they are life-changing.
I honestly didn't think I could love this author any more than I already do, but she went and deliver an outstanding and unforgettable read that I will continue to go back to and read

Beautiful Writing - 10 stars
Another win from Dr Sharp.
This story drags you in and you keep turning the pages until you realize that you are finished. Your emotions will run high, you will cry but you will have a few laughs and most of all you will love the main characters. This story deals with addition, depression and suicide, redemption and love.
Ashton (Ash) is devoted, loving to a fault but he is battling his many demons. Taylor has her secrets and is also struggling with her parents' deep religious beliefs. Two broken persons come together and try to heal each other with love.
I really enjoyed this story!!!

I really enjoyed this story!!!
I must say that I enjoyed this book much more than the first one and in the first book I really hated Ashton but slowly in this book I began to like him again and I really wanted Taylor happy above all else.
Ashton was a bit of a complex character as he was on his way to recovering from his alcohol addiction but he needed to do it on his own and away from everyone from his past, including his family. I found that a little frustrating as he had hurt Blake so much in the first book. I was proud of what Ashton began to accomplish for himself and how he was going about it with the help from Larry, his sponsor.
I loved Taylor from the first book and it continued in this book. She had feelings for Ashton for so long and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t have done for him. Yet one night everything changed and then Ashton left and Taylor was left picking up the pieces. When Taylor arrived at Ashton’s she was shocked to meet Danny and knew she was interrupting something.
Taylor was holding a huge secret and gradually as she and Ashton became closer she kept coming close to telling him things but at the same time she was afraid to tell Ashton just in case she lost him.
I loved the friendships that were formed between Ashton and Larry and their circle and how Taylor became embraced into their circle.
I hated what was happening with Larry and I really hope we learn more. I hated what happened to the coffee shop and how much that affected Larry and the events that led to. I was super sad with everything that happened after and I do hope we get a little more closure on that.
I loved when Ashton realized the truth but I was super freaked out for Taylor.
I loved what Ashton named his restaurant and how everything ended!
I still need more with everything that happened to Larry!

I always look forward to reading RS and she has done it again with another awesome five star read. I could have totally devoured this book in one go but after starting the book I ended up with two sick kids both vomiting and I had to put it down.
If you have read Reputation, you know that Ash is Blake's brother and he is hiding a huge secret. He's a high level functioning alcoholic and it is taking over his life. This was the reason why he gave Zach the ultimatum to break his sister's heart, and ever since, he hasn't been able to look at himself in the mirror.
Taylor is his sister's best friend, and he's always denied himself feeling more for her than he already does. He believes she deserves so much better than him, and refuses to taint her.
I have to say that the people of Carmel Cove have captured my heart and I so can't wait for the Carmel Cove series next year.
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
