Didn't realize until 10% in that this was not a Mitch Rapp book...my bad. Still good.
This good was good for me, but not fabulous. I enjoyed reading something of a different genre and it wasn't too technically involved for me. There was a little bit of bad language, fyi.
Grabbed this well worn paperback on our way out the door to the beach. I don't know who left it at our house. I started it on the beach and have really enjoyed reading it. Very entertaining, suspensful, and violent (so be warned).
Decent read, good page turner, but lacking a strong central character or any plot twists.

I need an occasional Mitch Rapp action to fire me up. For those not aware, Vince Flynn's main character throughout his novels is Mitch Rapp. The Ultimate American warrior who kills the bad guys. He's a combination of Jason Bourne and Jack Ryan.
This book is about a handful of terrorist trying to take out high profile targets in the US. The book has the typical turf wars that also exist in real life in D.C. Flynn knows his military and intel lingo. Like any novel of this nature, there are the "oh come on moments," but in general Flynn keeps it believable.

3.5 stars. I liked this book but not as much as previous ones. This was a tad bit slower. It also seemed like the writing style seemed off too. However, I did like that the terrorists continued from the last book and didn't skip a beat. I loved hearing them arguing with each other. Kareem was so personally hurt when the president called them cowards for their attack. Also, I love that Hurley is back in the series. His voice sounded different in this one, though.
I don't know why Rapp was more paranoid about the FBI in this book. And I still don't get why he marrried Anna. He's always saying that he hates reporters almost as much as politicians.
And why didn't the president endorse Rapp to go after the three terrorists? I hate all the politics and red tape.
