I read 3 of these volumes pretty much back to back so these reviews will be the same for all three. I adore this couple. They’re so cute and have such a wonderful relationship that I had a wonderful time watching grow. A series that is funny and entertaining. I will say my least favorite part of this series is that horrible teacher. Pedophilia is treated so normally with him and other teachers. I’m glad one of the main characters calls him on it but it never really goes any further in fixing it except calling him a pedophile. I would hate every page he showed up on. I would get so invested in the main couples relationship I would even forget he was there and it was like a jump scare whenever he would show up. After hearing what the next volume is about I’m going to stop the series at volume 3 since it feels like a good wrap up for their story.

The teacher is a creep and its just never addressed? It was also sorta insta love and just not the greatest thing I've ever read.

I read on Animenewsnetwork that this one would be getting an anime (no information on whether it would be OVA, ONA, Movie or Series), and the trailer looked pretty decent, so I decided to check it out.

All in all, it was a good manga. However I didn't like everything.

For instance, there was a lot of cliché stuff. Falling over each other, bumping into each other, the awkwardness of first love and various others. At times it just distracted me from reading because I just had to shake my head. I don't mind clichés but there really should be a limit on how many clichés you can use in one thing. :)

The art was another thing. On the one hand, at times it looked pretty, but at times it looked so darned awful. Their eyes were just scary and creepy and their bodies often looked disproportional and they seemed more alien than human.

The drama was also over the top and silly.

But the romance was pretty cute and I think they really fitted together. I really loved the times they kissed and hugged, it was really lovely.

The characters were interesting. We got a serious guy named Sajou, and a more laid-back and silly character named Hikaru. Most of the time the action comes from Hikaru, who seems to be more experienced in these things. But slowly, as the manga and the time pass, we can see Sajou stepping up more and more. Losing his insecurity, daring to do more. It was all pretty realistic. Unlike some manga or anime were characters immediately dive into a bed and have sex. This one builds up, shows us the characters insecurities, shows us how much they love each other and how they try to be there for each other.

However, it all ends pretty fast and the manga leaves me wanting more. What happens with these 2? Will they stay together? Will they go to different universities? Will they go further than hugging/kissing? I got so many questions, and I guess I will just have to hope that one day there will be more about this couple.

All in all, I would recommend this manga. It is cute, short and fluffy and also pretty realistic. Though be warned, it is open ended. If you don't like that, don't read it.

Holy shit, I blew threw this volume! What an adorable, squee-worthy story about two boys starting a relationship!

I don't have a lot to say that isn't me squeeing nonstop, but something I do want to mention is that I'm thrilled I finally found a m/m romance I can root for. I don't know if other anime/manga fans think this way, but to me it seems like there are more slow-burn/romantic lesbian stories and FAR more hard-core, sexual gay stories. The problem I see is that it's perpetuating this idea that gay relationships are meant to be sexualized while lesbian stories should be more romantic (not to say all of them are, I read Citrus and am sure there are more like that out there). Thus, when this series went on sale and having heard it's considered a classic, I jumped at the opportunity to read it and see why it's held in such high regard. And just from this first volume, I totally get it and am so down for this romance!

Mini rant aside, I do really like this relationship and love our two main leads. Kusakabe is such a hyper nutbar and Sajo is so serious yet shy and I ADORE their dynamic. The art style/artwork can be a little difficult to follow sometimes, but I do really like it, especially the expressions the characters make. There's not much to discuss story wise, since it's a typical romance, but that's fine. Sometimes simple is better.

This was a great start to the series and I'm hoping to binge the rest of it cuz I need more cute in my life. Love it, highly recommend it!
