I really do like them together truly but they were also never together 95% of this book which pulls my rating down. I wish there was more conversation in this book as well.
~3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was kindly provided with an ARC for an honest review!
Holy moly, I loved this book. Even tho it took me some days to finish it, just because I was quite busy and couldn't read as much as I wanted. But when I had time, I devoured it.
I love Jason and Raine. They both have their own baggage, but these 'damaged' and 'inked' boys show, what it means to have a family, to have each other's back.
Very deep and heavy feelings, struggles, but oh so worth it!!!

This was the most frustrating book I’ve read in a long time. I only finished because I spent the money on it. I listened on Audible and it took approx 10 hours for the Mc’s to stop fighting and agree to be together. It was a bunch of meeting up for sex, one of them getting pissed at the other, and Jason leaving to go back to the streets. That went on for over 30 chapters! They spent more time in their own head than being present for actual conversation. The ending was so rushed and wrapped up in like 30 minutes. There are also some plot lines that didn’t get resolved. If all the back and forth was removed, this story could have been told in u see 4 hours tops. This is the second book from this author that I’ve disliked. I won’t be giving them a third chance.

Just like all of the other books of Jo's I've read, this book had me sucked in quick!!! I haven't read any of the other stories that featured most of these characters, but it read as a great stand alone!

From the beginning Raine was someone that was super interesting to me, it seemed that he had overcome a lot. With the help of his brother he really made a good life for himself, but he was missing something. With Jason it almost seemed the opposite, people trying to help him and him getting no where. There was so much to both of their lives that made their characters so dynamic and so interesting. Each of them were so different, but their chemistry was undeniable.

No matter how much either of them tried to quit each other they kept coming back for more. This was something that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I read this book. I couldn't wait to see where it led them, and what path they went down. Their pasts and present were both so prevalent in each others lives that we really had no clue where life would lead. Jo does this so well, she kind of makes you second guess any expectation you have and really keep your mind wondering the whole time. It's such a great way to keep the reader going and enticed, and boy did it work! I can't wait to read the works that these other characters were in to. I think it'd prove a great background and get a better idea of what these men had overcome.

Wowzers!!

Wowzers what a read. This was filled with all the things I've come to love from a Jo Raven story. She really takes you through all phases of the characters lives and their relationship. There was no sugar coating here. You got the good and the bad but at the end you got to see Raine and Jason's happily ever after. It was beautiful and made the angst that you felt well worth it. Can't wait to read her next release.

Feelings.

Oh so many times I wanted to shake Jason and Raine. Wanting them to just TALK. Just one thing went a bit unanswered for me.

This is no rom/com romance. It is a street, dirty, gritty M/M romance.

Jason has been a prostitute for many years, he could get out, but he doesn't so he can protect those younger than him in this life. He's repeatedly robbed, beaten, degraded. It's just all in a days work for him, hungry cold and dirty is how he ends his nights.

Rainne Storm is an old friend, or frienemy? Well they didn't get along well even though they had a mutual attraction.

Jason has secrets - he won't tell those around him who do try to help him. He fears for the safety of everyone he loves.

Over and Over, Rainne reaches out to Jason, to protect him, to love him. Jason pulls away, because he feels he has to, but he doesn't want to.

When they each allow the other to love them, it's beautiful. This was a very emotional ride, the narrators, Iggy Toma, and Teddy Hamilton did such a wonderful job. Teddy especially pulled my heart along with his

I believe this is a first for me by this author. I don’t really know what I was expecting, this cover is what jumped out at me and I had to listen.

I liked the characters and their connection, but it kind of felt one-sided for the most part. Jason really goes through the wringer in this story and I sometimes didn’t think Raine understood the situation Jason was in. I wanted him to care more for this man he was lusting after.

I think this book could have been freaking great but it was just too slow, and I wanted more magnetize between these characters I wanted to feel their lust and romantic need for each other. I just didn’t feel it.

It wasn’t terrible or anything I guess I just wanted more.

I loved the narration Teddy’s voice is YUM. Is that a descriptive word, haha NO but I don’t care it is what it is.

Ughhhhhhhhh my heart...okay so normally, I get turned off by characters who go back and forth with their feelings because lets face it, it's annoying. Either you love the person or you don't! But oh my God, Raine and Jason's story is so different; yes it's back and forth but there's so much going on in the background for them both that you bite the bullet and just endure the angst and heart ache between these two complicated but beautifully flawed characters. I haven't read Jo Raven's previous books that seem to tie in to Jagged Edge (in terms of characters not necessarily plots/cliffhangers) but I don't feel like you need to in order to fully understand the story. So long story short, this story is about a boy, Raine, who meets another boy, Jason, who happens to be a prostitute, who doesn't understand why he's starting to have feelings for him but then soon realizes he cannot breathe without him and who's beyond repairing but can be saved. You follow the story of Raine and Jason as they both go through angst, heart ache, and hurt but then they learn to trust, feel and love and it's all totally worth the tears and goosebumps and the one sleepless night I endure because yes, I read this book in one sitting, 24 hrs.
