It's a miracle that Danny Trejo survived the first twenty years of his life, much less his years in California's toughest prisons, then went on to become a leader in the Recovery movement, a Hollywood star, and now restaurant owner. He has an incredible story, which he tells with honesty, humility, and humor.

Highly recommended!

I adored this listen. Danny Trejo was just the crazy guy in the movies before I listened to his memoir. He’s an overcomer who doesn’t hesitate to give back in ways that weren’t available to him.

From the streets of Pacoima, CA to the hardest prisons in CA, Trejo takes the reader on a journey that allows you to experience the choices of a misguided youth. The choice to give up the addictions that led to being incarcerated were life altering. It becomes the impetus for a life of generosity and gratitude.

Loved this! I listened to the audiobook until the very end, including the final note by Donal Logue.
