Lisa Jackson
A really feel-good, inspirational book about being a back-of-the-pack runner. Lisa Jackson talks about how she has finished dead last in marathons numerous times, and has completed ultra races whilst avoiding the sweeper vans that were trying to pick her up to give her a ride back to the finish line. She's really funny and positive, and basically believes that running should serve you rather than punish you. And that it should be fun above all else.
I'm definitely a tortoise rather than a hare, although I've knocked almost 10 minutes off my 5km time since I started properly plodding along in August. I've entered a half marathon and a marathon this year and I'll be dipping back into the advice that Lisa Jackson offers here for sure.

This book has a lot of ups and downs (not just the hills that Lisa runs!). I thoroughly enjoyed reading her reflections on her years of running and the people she's met. As someone who isn't a fast runner, I really related to a lot of what she said and it's made me re-consider my vow not to run another marathon!
This book took me a long time to get through and I definitely think it would be better to read the printed form rather than the Kindle one (which I read), because there are little inserts and lots of pictures that didn't really come across as well as they could have.

Well, it convinced me that signing up for a 10k upcoming october was a good idea so I think it's done it's job, time to start training I guess.
Loved this book. It puts a whole new spin on what it means to be a runner!
