This book was the one I really wanted to get to in the series because I felt like Netflix did our girl Penelope dirty in the show and I wanted to compare. I will say that this book did the overall plot of Penelope's story much better
mainly how she revealed herself as Whistledown and how Colin knew before they were married
, but was weaker on all the side plots
Cressida's motivations were more fleshed out and made more sense in the show and Penelope gaining confidence and owning her success was better demonstrated in the show without Colin being like "you don't know your brilliant" about it like in the book

However, Penelope & Colin's relationship was not as well developed and I cringed at almost everything Colin did and said.

The 2nd epilogue at the end of this edition also gave some pretty big spoilers for Eloise's story, which was frustrating.

Penelope and Colin are my favourites and I am so so happy on the story Julia Quinn wrote for them. I don't personally feel like Cressida could be that smart, but I guess every good book needs a villain

Making my way through the books before I watch the series. Fluffy, fun, low stakes, low angst. I just love a period piece.
